Thank you for the tip about 'just hitting something'. When I was initially sighting in my silent cat, I let the boys come out and take some shots. At 25 yds. away, there was pretty much no way they were going to hit the target. And they didn't. Their excitement immediately vanished.."wanna take some more shots?" "No thanks, dad."
The other day I broke out the BB gun and brought the target to about 8-10 yds and they put the scope on and were hitting it every shot. My older boy (
was actually getting a really nice pattern. They both enjoyed it so much more. It was fun.
In hindsight, the tip seems obvious - but I guess if we all thought of everything all of the time we wouldn't have much info to share.
