I want to first mention that Im going to try and get completely away from PCP due to the availability of air and extra cost for me to have my own supply. The hand pump is much more than I bargained for. I havent completely tossed the idea of PCP out just yet. There are other factors as well but I really didnt want anyone to suggest one of those type of guns at this time. Thanks.
Im having a very hard time deciding what gun I want. Its probably equally as hard for you to answer me specifically. We try and shoot a beaver whenever we can. They are extremely tough critters. I know because Ive shot a many of them with a .22 LR. I dont expect to take one down with a pellet gun unless Im real close and get a good clean head shot. Other than the beaver it will just be squirrels, rabbit, birds, and paper practice from time to time.
I really wanted the HW90 in the .25 cal until I found out that it doesnt shoot as near as fast as advertized. I believe it can be made to shoot faster but Im more of a "out of box" shooter and do not like to make any modifications if possible. Soooo I started going back to the .22 cal and was seriously looking at the HW90 and the TX200 MkIII both in .22 cal. Im not completely set on these two guns but these are on the top two on my list right now.
I understand that these are two totally different designed guns but.......Any words of advice ?

You posted in the German airgun gate. If you want to hunt beaver I note by your signature line you've already got a Marauder in .25. That should be adequate for beaver. The TX is a fixed barrel. The HW is a break barrel. The TX is very accurate but a bit difficult to load without practice. Being a break barrel, the HW will be much easier to load in the field, just not quite as accurate (almost).

I would probably opt for the HW for hunting. If you go for the TX, you may want the HC version - it's a bit shorter.

IMO buy a used hw90 in .22 for hunting with proper placement humane kills should be possible. buying used will save you hundred about like the lil gecko for geico...

Sorry Roadworthy but I modified my post after you made yours. I agree with the Mrod and it kicks butt when it comes to some great power.
Thanks for the tips on the ones I asked about and what you said makes a lot of sense especially in a hunting application.
If I was to practice and get good at loading the TX then I guess that would help.
Is it possible that the TX is hard on scopes ?
Maybe harder on them than the HW90 ?
Im asking because I currently have the Hawke Sport Optics Airmax EV 3-9x40 and didnt know if it would hold up on either of these two guns.

I will definitely keep this in mind. The only issue I have that conflicts with that is because I have a substantial amount of credit ($) at PA that I really need to use.

The Diana 460 is an awesome under lever which comes in .22 and is a magnum rated accurate AG if possible check it out also

Thanks sfttailrdr46 for the suggestion and I must say that will stay in mind for sure. I like the speed for the .22 and cocking effort not bad. I noticed you have a Leapers 3-12X44 AO SWAT Compact scope is that because they are hard on scopes ?

Hard on cheap scopes but I had a Center Point from walmart that worked fine until I got the Swat compact . The compact just made loading a little easier since it is not over the breech

But what about the 1000 fps in .22 cal. Is that with lead pellet ?

The FPS/FPE is dependent on the weight of the pellet my .177 will shoot at over 1100 fps with light pellets . That is not good for the spring or anything else just kills accuracy and causes premature wear on parts. Befoer I knew any better I would occasionally shoot the Gamo PBA's Broke my main spring near the top hat after about 2500 pellets now shoot 8 -10 gr pellets only for about 900 fps

I think you are referring to the xs28m John, the 25 doesn't have the volume to make 24fpe without copious amounts of fuel in the compression chamber.

If you are going after small game the two best rifles in my never humble opinion would be Weihrauch HW 95 or a Diana 34. Not much between them but the HW 95 could be just a little better quality. In the field you will not know the difference. What you will find out is that both of them are lovely rifles to handle and they are nice to shoot. Break barrel is the way to go when hunting because a fumbled pellet falls clear whereas in an under lever it falls into the plunger recess and takes time and mucking about to get it out. A break barrel is plain easier to load. That can be a consideration when shooting at dawn or dusk or when a follow up shot is necessary. .177 is a good calibre for small game but .22 just as good.
Both rifles are compact light and manoeuvreable especially the carbine versions and they are just as accurate as the long ones. They are just as accurate as a fixed barrel in the field and more accurate than the average shooter can shoot them. You have to use the right pellet.
I have recently been hunting with my Diana 34 and got 50 rabbits in six days of easy hunting, just walking the paddocks and I am no crack shot nor an experienced hunter.

Im really leaning toward the Air Arms TX200 MkIII. Seems like a nice gun. I would like to know if it shoots 755 fps with a .22 cal then what weight of pellet ?
If anyone can tell me about the speed and what weight with theyre Air Arms TX200 MkIII then that would be great.
