Ok, I tried to watch that; guess the lyrics aren't as weird as I thought but...
HOLY MOLY THAT GROUP IS WEIRD!!!...
I normally stick with never, ever watching music videos, since I don't want to have a good listening experience ruined by distaste for the group; but I'm kind of glad I saw that one-IMO, yuck!!...

The only other person besides Coe to do it justice was George Jones.

Alan Jackson did this one a lot of justice, but nobody can beat George Jones.


In my opinion this is the best version of this song George ever did, but I don't know when he recorded it.
It's on the 1979 album " George Jones sings country hits " , as well as the album " Mr country " which was apparently first released in 1980 , and on the 2003 album a good year for roses, but I haven't been able to figure out when it was actually recorded.

If I had to guess, it sounds like mid -late 60's George to me.


I can only find it on compilation albums and not on any actual studio albums.

I kept digging and finally found it.
It was a remake done for his 1967 greatest hits album " Hits by George ".
I had trouble finding it because I dismissed all the hits albums assuming they'd be the standard original recordings.

This album was all remakes because his previous label owned the right to the original masters of many of his songs.
