Lets say a guy is going to try HFT. He wants to have a guy like Motorhead add a drop in kit to his TX 200 MK lll. Which kit should he use, remember accuracy is more important than power.

i vote jm kit because his kits are proven and i have found them to be very soft recoiling in nature.

If your just wanting rifle kitted ... NO NEED to pay someone to do a 30 min job that can be done with 3 tools and some real basic mechanical skills.
Trigger work, breech head spacing issues and other more in depth issues are another matter and best left to those in the know with tools and experience in such things.

My Vote on KIT ... The VORTEK, there soooo smooth and when using the O-ring piston seal the Shot to shot deviation is just ridiculously low when guns set up properly.

There are signs in all the Ace Hardwares in the Bay Area that have my picture on them with a caption that reads " do not sell tools to this man". Heck last week I cut myself trying to change the ink stick thing in my ball point pen.

Oh and which Vortek, 12 fpe? Or High Output?

You can tune the High output down easy enough ... but very difficult and not very effective trying to get the LP kit shooting faster

Duck!!! Dropping in a kit does NOT a tuned rifle make.......I think.
Been working with tools ever since I can remember.....but I won't mess with my guns!!
Scott has been a pleasure to deal with and does meticulous work. Send it!!!
I have Vortek HO kits in everything and they are a dream bro!!
Smooth cocking action and almost silent firing cycle!!
My vote is for the PG2 kit. Awesome performance.

Definitely give HFT a shot bro!!! Went to my first match couple of months ago, with some GTA rookies, and had a fantastic time!!

My rifles I have done all the tuning. I get a kit that fits my needs because there are really just a few folks for the most part that has extensive supply for various models.

I then break the rifle apart..........using dremel tools and other various small hand tools I debur; polish; and re-lube; as well as fix any rough areas needing attention. Then reassemble and whammo; you almost instantaneously have a new rifle. To me that is my tune process. No fabricating parts because I buy the parts to install. So if this is a tune to the full then all my guns are full tuned. Then again this could be a half arse tune but either way my guns shoot more smoothly; better accuracy; less recoil; and either stay the same in power or slightly better but without accuracy issues.

Am I a pro or do this for a living.............heck no! I just got the ability to take things apart naturally from my father who fixes knitting machines and is a whiz at repair! That is all I got from my father............wished I had gotten more of his frugal ways!!!! Thanks dad for the passing down of valuable genes!!!!

Say I got the Diana nickel with the black pickle, can I send you some airgun pinups to post for me? It is one hot shooting rig, I guess that Ed K. guy knows his stuff. Maybe this Monday at the range I can get some pics, Yeah!

The reason I thought about hiring Motörhead to do the dropin kit is because my favorite sushi joint is very near his shop. And that would give me a good reason to drive up there. You know, kill two birds one pellet. Oh, and yeah he is really good at that kinda stuff too.

I have tried all of these kits in my pro sport.

If you want optimal accuracy, go with the vortek 12fpe setup. That is the one that remains in my gun. At least 25,000 shots and still very consistent with no loss of power.

I am using the older vortek seal, not the newer oring seal.

I vote Vortek. I got the 14fpe FT kit in my Pro Sport and I swear it feels like the gun is underpowered - it's that smooth! It shoots exactly 14fpe with a recoil so mild and smooth I can knock pest birds out from long distances with little effort.
Sadly, Vortek discontinued this kit last month!

I'm ready to redo my TX200HC with a Vortek (has a Maccari in it now) but I'm torn between the two kits (12fpe and the *New* High Output kit). Then again I might contact Vortek to put together the old 14fpe kit for me since they still have the parts for it.

Scott has my TX bro. He just put the Vortek HO kit in it. He's going to hold onto it till the Pro Sport comes in.....hopefully next week.......and send both back.

That's a good idea.
My Tx has been annoying me lately, it's time for a change so one of those Vortek's should do the trick. I know there's no free lunch with a springer, higher power equals more recoil, etc.. But the 14fpe kit is a dream to shoot and they discontinued it, d'oh! I'm VERY curious about the HO Kit. I'm most curious about shot cycle followed by cocking effort.

I put the #14 PG2 in the TX, with o-ring seal, and Krytox. Guns shot cycle is smooth as can be. Shooting 13.27 fpe. Only problem was the O-ring started to give up after about 4k shots. Just installed a new ring, and lubed with molly. I will take it down after another 4k and have a look. Someone mentioned that O-rings, and crosshatch don't get along. Smooth chamber is better.

Didn't have any problems with the ring coming unseated. Look at the pic, you can see where it became chafed in one spot.
