zoe got her first squirrel

My German shorthair pointer, zoe. Got her first squirrel today. The squirrel was living in a flicker box I'd made last year. I'd noticed the squirrel living there when zoe was sitting under the box whining. So this morning zoe, a friend and I set out to get the furry beast. I had a .22 pb and my friend had my Benjamin. So zoe and my friend stood off to the side as I tapped the box with a stick. The squirrel flew out of the box and hit the ground and zoe was inches behind him when he went up another tree. He was sitting in a crook of the tree about 50 feet up. I shot the tree next to the squirrel with the .22 to spook him to the other side of the tree and my friend finished him off with the 392. Where zoe grabbed him, shook him and dropped him. Then went looking for another. Looks like I've got a new squirrel hunting buddy!

maybe if id had zoe with me today I would have found the nutter that I dropped. brush was thick and I was sure it was dead the way it dropped so I didn't go get it immediately.  well I guess it still had enough life in it to crawl into a hole somewhere.  dang the luck.  whats weird is I couldn't even find a drop of blood
