I wrote an article of an easy to do with common materials modification (which I performed) that transformed this rifle into a really wonderful, super accurate, springer plinker.

Following your advice, I took apart my IZH61 today. Without a manual, it is a self learn thing to do this. Well I got the piston out and had a good look at the parts. I was thinking of ways to improve the performance of this gun also. The piston is light and maybe could be replaced with a heavier piston with a different type of piston seal, then the steel spring guide could be replaced with a synthetic one and placed in the rear of the spring.
