Thanks Al. I believe it is stock and all original. Built in '71, it still holds air just fine and shoots hard. I have not even taken the action out of the stock since I bought it. Only had it a couple weeks. So far it has taken this rat and a possum. I like this one so much I bought another. It should be delivered tomorrow or Tuesday. If it shoots good, it will probably go to Mac1 for the full steroid treatment plus a Gen II Brake.

It was a pretty Dang Good I.F.A.R.T. Therapy Day for Benjihunter and Tri-5-ron,... ... not so good of a day for the "Furry and Feathered Fiends,...
Good read. I started on page one this morning.
Ready to give this another try. My 'battlefield' is a property I am renovating in Houston, about 150 miles from my home. Will be heading out tomorrow after lunch. Plan to get camp set up first, and then put out some fresh bait. Gonna use the same Cherioes and peanut butter mixture as before, and supplement with some sliced up hotdog wieners. mmmmmmmm
Greg, Good luck with your second battle. May you Perforate many Pests I was thinking it might be a good idea to turn those cinderblocks so that the holes are also facing your shooting position. That way the Little Lead Catchers cant hide in there if they get spooked. This Sunday, I will be returning to the Goat Farm, and taking my daughter. She wants to try her hand at Bustin' some Brain boxes, with the "Black Widow". (that's what she named her modified Mrod) We won't be getting there until around 1:30 in the afternoon, so hopefully the GS's will not all be napping.Wish us luck !
Heard a few ding dongs Friday night. First performance started at about 1:30am, then the encore at 3:45am. Each time I got up to look, the performer darted off stage. Severe case of stage fright I guess. After that I turned the donger switch off.Yesterday decided to simplify the stage a bit. I removed the cinder blocks completely and just nailed the donger board to the lower fence rail. Also took away the backboard as it provide too easy of an escape route. Then I rotated the whole stage 180 degrees to put the bait cup closer to the fence pickets. I also adjusted the lighting so that it was directly in front of the window I peep out of.
Pictures. We love photos. See and learn of the new set up
Quote from: deliminator on April 27, 2014, 10:35:01 PMPictures. We love photos. See and learn of the new set upSorry, did not take a pic after I changed things up. Maybe next weekend when I get back to Houston. In the meantime, here is a pic of the original configuration with the changes marked.1 - Removed the red X's - cinder blocks, backboard, perch2 - Relocated the upper board with 'donger' to the lower fence rail3 - Flipped the base board 180 so that the yellow bait cup is in the back close to the fencePrior to mods, wiley rat would either hide behind backboard, inside the cinder block, or just disappear into thin air. I really don't know how he got away so quickly. After mods, rat would run along fence, grab morsel, then run to the base of the nearest fence post to consume. See that little clump of green leaves to the left in the photo? Behind that is where I shot the little bugger. I could barely make him out, so shot placement was pretty much a SWAG. For some reason I do not understand, this particular rat had like a sixth sense. They are not supposed to be able to see red, but he was obviously skittish of my red lighting and wanted to be behind cover. Also, eventhough I did not have any lights on inside the house, as soon as I approached the window to look out he would bolt. There is a streetlight in front of the house, so perhaps a little bit of light behind me created enough of a sillouette the he saw something and spooked. Rat #1 that I killed two weeks ago was a cake-walk compared to this little guy.
Great idea.Nice bait station!!Ron, he's worthy member of I.F.A.R.T, don't you think.
