hawke scope

Does anyone have any feedback on this hawke scope. Hawke Sport Optics Sport HD IR 3-9x40 AO....I wanted to get a leapers with swat but I have a wal mart card with $120 on it. WM has it for $129 but would have to go to 179 or 189 for a hawke with swat. Don't know if I can swing that right now so what do you think of this scope. Thanks

I have one on the Webley Patriot .25.
I love it. Crisp and clear image.
Nice distinct clicks.
And only the mil-dot part is lit up.

I love my Hawke, just dont get there rings. I was not pleased with there rings, I'm in the process of upgrading them

I love Hawke scopes, I own 3 of them. Even my cheap 2-7X32 AO IR is a good crisp clear scope. I plan on getting two more 8-32X56 Sidewinders after I get my TX200MK3 .177 tuned.

I have that scope on my Walther, was on my Webly. Nice and clear, nice operations and no issues.

If I can get a swat I'd put it on my discovery. Or I just picked up a rws 350 mag. 177 I have a centerpoint 4-16 wal mart spec. In can put on my disco just been doing open sights.

I love my Hawke 3-9x50 AO IR scope from the Sport HD series.  Amazing clarity at the price point and etched glass reticle is very nice.

However, I believe the non-IR types have a wire reticle that is more coarse so be mindful of that.  And just as an anecdote, someone here on GTA commented that they started with an IR scope and were very pleased with it, and then bought a non-IR (of the same magnification and size) and were badly disappointed by the quality of the glass.  I think that was an defect though because according to Hawke, they are manufactured to the same standards, the only differences being the reticle and illumination feature.
