Great info!

does anybody know where can I get piston seals for my npss.22? I am from Chile and I was wondering if there's a web page I can check. (I tryed crosman's web site but nada!)

also, I kinda want to replace the piston, gas ram, etc... with the one that comes in the np xl... is that possible?
Cheers!

That is a Crosman Challenger air rifle. The stock was still available at the time of original post. Check the posts, there is a part number and contact info for Crosman to call and see if it's still available. You would have to paint it if you wanted a different color.

Awesome job Dave, I found this on my own but I was a auto parts guy for decades so it come natural to me.  the person I spoke to at Crosman was very nice and very helpful. I think they appreciate it when someone calls with the part numbers. So take note guys and use Dave information so he hasn't wasted his time and your ordering will be much easier and faster    OK I will get down off the first step of my soap box now LOL ;)

THANKS DAVE

Paul, I updated the original post with diagrams for XL, Trail NP and the Cabelas Thumbhole model.
Had to shrink the size so if anyone has a problem reading it, let me know and I'll try again or send via email.

I have no interest in those guns myself.

Though you did not have to shrink the size.  You could have just converted them to 16 color GIF images and they would have been data wise small enough while still maintaining the full size in pixels.

They don't offer a 20% discount anymore ;  and what exactly did Dave mean by "opening it up" ?

Were not all savvy to airgun slang ......... I took it to mean if I open the box it comes in , then I void the warentee ?

If I remove the stock to clean it - is that opening it up ??

Opening it up...disassembling the airgun. Removing the internals. ANYTHING out of the normal maintenance in the opwner's manual.

Thank you for clarification , but let me ask you ....... in your signature you list
Benjamin Trail NP XL1100 (home tuned by muwah with Tuna trigger)
Replacing the trigger would void the warrentee right ?
Do you wait a year after buying the gun to do tuning and internal work ?

Replacing any internal part will void your warranty. YOU have to decide to wait a year for the warranty to expire...or not. As for me, I opened it up almost immediately. I'm a tinkerer. And yep, voided my warranty and did not expect Crosman to honor any issue I uncovered in the process.

I remember reading a post where the owner called Crosman with a warranty issue. They asked if putting a CDT trigger in it voided the warranty. The Crosman rep said no, just put the old trigger back in before sending the airgun back because they might loose the CDT trigger. I wouldn't take this one instance as gospel, it's probably up to whoever you talk to at Crosman and if they were in a good mood. Changing the trigger would void the intent of the warranty.

yes , now you have pointed out the reality of their warranty ; I am glad they are somewhat flexible in their enforcement .
They can't very well open the floodgate and accept every modified gun that comes down the pike .
I have always been treated by their customer service as a valued and respected customer and I feel a sense of loyalty to them because of that .

One big question seems to be whether the trigger IS internal.  Granted you must remove the stock to swap the trigger but that's not quite the same as putting the gun into a spring compressor and dismantling it.  The argument could be made that replacing the trigger is an EXTERNAL modification.  It is easily reversible putting the gun back to original.

I have also spoken to Crosman and received the same story - replacing the trigger in their break barrel rifles will not void the warranty.  Just reinstall the original trigger before returning the gun.  They tend to ship a new gun in the box and won't take the time to transfer your trigger.

Nice looking M-Rod.... And does any body know of a discount for crosman?

You can use 'AGNation' for 15%, but your better bet is to wait until any Tuesday for 20% off by applying "20OFFTuesday" and make your purchase on a Tuesday.  That's the best discount on Crosman gear that I've found.  There are a few items for which no coupon codes will work, such as the Bulldog.
