After a month of using my Benjamin pump a LOT, it started to feel just a little bit "off" while pumping. Did a complete field strip, clean, re-greased with food grade PTFE synthetic grease and reassembled. She is back to working like she should now.
The grease was really dirty inside but o-rings included the common failure point on the small rod were still in good shape. After seeing how it all works I will be doing regular maintenance on it from now on. Easy enough to strip it down and clean it all every couple of weeks when it is being used a lot.
Have a feeling that the same regular maintenance should be done on any pump. Anyone else doing regular preventative maintenance work on their pumps?

good to know about routine maintenance on the Benjamin pumps. You didn't happen to take a pic or two of the process did you? I've only had my discovery for maybe a week and a half now but I've shot well over 500 pellets already so I might need to start thinking about some routine service pretty soon.
