A Lesson Learned.....

well,
i think i figured out why my accuracy with my prior Titan GP NP, was so hit or miss....
my new titan GP arrived, and i picked it up, took it home, and immediatly started giving it the once over. upon looking in the barrel, it had the normal ammount of dust and grime in it... however, after pushing a patch of hoppes #9, layer upon layer of this black gunk, started coming out. i pushed probably 15 soaked patches of bore solvent through the barrel, each coming out as black as spring tar. i kept going until i got aggrivated, and decided to plug the barrel, and fill it up, to the breech seal, with solvent. let it sit for 3-4 hours (god i love nitro piston), and after sitting, unplugged it, and continued scrubbing.... patches still coming out black, i grabbed my Gamo airgun cleaning kit, pulled out my cleaning rod and .22 cal plastic bore brush. after 15 minutes, probably 200 passess, back and forth (400 in all), i started to make some headway.... patches are still coming out dirty, but light grey, instead of tar black... what in the heck?
i don't know how an airgun could be accurate with all that &^^& in it...

Yup, thats some bad stuff. I used rws bore cleaner to loosen it up and jb bore paste to scrub that &^^& out, followed by more rws solvent. Sure left the insides bright and shiny, polished looking.
I always heard never to clean an AG barrel but i couldn't imagine leaving all that stuff in there... J

ok, bore is finally clean... i literally just went through a box of 200 .22 caliber patches... dry, pushing them through. there still very lightly tinted brown... but i'm satisfied... shooting a hundred or so pellets will finish it up. but its a far cleaner bore than it used to be... and i'm sure the gun will continue to diesel for a little bit.. hopefully not for to long
