FWB 127

I recently acquired a early (102xx) FWB 127.  Disassembled gun in great shape, with all parts and pieces. My question is that this gun (my first FWB) is stamped sport but as far as i can tell it is a deluxe, The stock has the checkering, raised cheek piece, sling swivels,  white spacer,ect. Im sure this gun has not been restocked or tampered with other than the attempt to replace the piston seal. It also has a muzzle brake on it that appears to be original. no iron sights, if they were there they were removed when the gun was new. I figured for 150.00 I couldn't lose.  Input is appreciated

I have two 124's with JM kits, one with the Pro Mac and the other with an as-yet-undetermined JM kit, and both have a fast, smooth firing cycle, far nicer than stock. If you aren't looking for the last ounce of power, I'd go with the Pro Mac Softer kit for an extremely pleasant cocking and firing experience, with very little sacrifice in velocity. 

I am also green with envy over your 127 find. I've been looking for a 127 for some time to go with my four 124's.

I'd say nothing like that ever happens to me, but it wouldn't be true. I did once have an uncle hand me a mint Crosman 677 Plink-O-Matic (the extremely rare 15-shot BB version of the .22 600 semi-auto) in a brown paper bad and say if I could fix it, it was mine. I rebuilt it from the parts diagrams with $6 in Crosman parts (shipped! - this was 1989) into perfect working order, and then passed it on to a grateful collector. Sometimes life is just too cool.

I am very grateful about my find, I know this gin is no power house but that's what my pcps are for. I have actually been looking for a good Springer for some time. Ive drooled over the tx200 for some time now but it just isn't in the budget. To answer your question it still has the original plastic trigger. The gun is disassembled but ill see about posting some pictures. Thanks for the replies guys.

+1 on being envious of your FWB 127. Nice snag with a very low price. If you are able - please post your final velocity after your rebuild on your sweet .22cal. BTW if you are ordering parts from JM -- you might want to go ahead and get yourself the SS trigger he sells. I know that the plastic ones last a long time but I have seen threads where someones plastic trigger breaks. Good luck on your overhaul.

I only ordered the appropriate lubes as the gun came with a new spring,breach seal and piston seal.  I will run the factory trigger till it breaks or I become dissatisfied with it.  for that matter Im still running the horrible factory trigger on my gamo, I know charlies are great but I just adapt to what ever I happen to be shooting.  Ive got enough back up guns that if one goes down its not the end of the world.

Seth... you will be doing a disservice to yourself by not changing both triggers... the gamo will be a lot easier to shoot. But the 127 will be a completely new gun. Ask my 124... it now feels complete. Change it.

I have a brand new 127 that recently been tuned by Watts along with an Everest kit .It shoots 680s with JSb express and premiers. This is equivalent to a sheridan pumped up about 8 times only in 22 cal. It wil kill anything any 22cal pcp will kill . No slouch. Get the stainless steel trigger and the Everest Kit

CVarcher... i respect your opinion, but you must mind the range. .22 pcp rifles could be shooting kodiaks at 940 fps... that is a tad bit more power (a bit more...), which will allow for a clean kill at twice the distance than a rifle with the 127 specifications...

Your right , the range is where the pcp keeps it going alright. But when I need to shoot beyond the 50 yard mark I just take out the ol 22LR and it will blow the doors  off pcps with no pumps or tanks. For me airguns are suppose to be short range and not too powerful. That why it was not a problem shooting them in the yardwhicb was one of the benefits . With all these PCPS 9mm 357 45 and 50 caliber we lost out . Thats because its never enough . Sorry for the rant.

dont be sorry, i hear ya about the .22 LR... but unfortunately we i dont live in a place where shooting my .22 LR is practical or legal, or even appreciated by the neighbors. but even at 100 yards, i still would take a 30 fPE pcp and shoot with no recoil whatsoever, or noise, or expense. remember that we are not only shooting airguns to make up for the lack or disapproval of use of PBs... i actually love shooting airguns more than firearms.

Where I live 22lr is forbidden until I get off this stupid island. Its because of this that Ive always appreciated airguns since 1966 when I first started shooting them. It was the first big advantage to hunt small game without getting into trouble. Now since last year  in my state airguns are reclassified as firearms. I cant help but think it must be due to all these higher powered airguns , the advertised hypes and of course the jerkoffs that do harm shooting at people . Im also a stalk hunter by nature since I also hunt with a longbow so getting close to game is part of the fun and important. Im not the kind of guy to shoot animals at far distances to prove my marksmanship. I shoot close and eat what I shoot at. I have shot target out to 100 yards and Im a darn good shot but its just not my bag. My old Marlin 783 22mag put 5 shots inside a dime at 100yds and my open iron sighted 357 mag levergun put 5 shots in a quarter at 50  yards with my handloads of course. My sheridan (scoped) also puts 5 shots inside a quarter at 50 yds using crosman premiers. I have bought sheridans with original seals still working excellent and 50 years old! How many times would a PCP need service in a half a century. Bear in mind a decent Sheridan cost 1/4 of less than the price of a PCP. And it can perform in the rain because its rustproof. he he ---I will stick to the old reliable thankyou.
