I tell you that critter that came through that night really put a scare into the critter's around here. If it didn't eat them it kept them from their usual daily or nightly duties. I haven't seen nothing on night hunt's and the game camera says the same. The nutters are finally starting to appear again and I counted five today but all of them were staying right by their nest. I decided to just do some scouting to count nutters and check the creek area for track's. Ed

Thank you guys.  I feel the same way Ed, antlers look nice but steaks taste so much better    I just finished butchering him up a little while ago, got a nice load of venison off him

Harry,,  thank you for the compliment buddy.  I do most of my bow hunting from a tree stand but I also like to spend some time hunting them on the ground.  It's a lot more challenging to say the least, but when I do manage to take one from the ground I really feel enormous satisfaction.  

I make sure I move ever so slowly, take frequent long pauses, I make sure I know the terrain and woods as best as I can and use that to my advantage, I constantly watch the wind direction and I do my best to spot them before they spot me so I can plan my stalk.  Even doing all those things perfectly the deer will bust you 9 times out of 10, but that one time where you wind up winning the contest is well worth the effort
