Weihrauch HW99s 0.22, (aka Beeman R6.)

Hi folks I thought you might like to see my new rifle ,I think Beeman did a version for you in the states;- the R6, and I`ve found an old HW50 0.177 barrel which looks like it would fit, but needs either re-bluing or some sort of shroud.

Currently it`s doing sub 15mm groups at 30 yds with the new Air Arms Falcon pellets (only about 13.4 grains and very flat shooting for a 11 ft/lb 0.22 rifle ) and it also likes CPL`s and Superdomes.

That's a beauty Harry!!!  I have been keeping an eye pealed for an R6......no luck yet.

Thanks Deanda,the R6 is a bit like a R7 that`s been working out!,but I`d trade it (perhaps?) for a Birmingham Webley Xocet!!(as you`ve got in your signature,you lucky person!!).
 
Over here people are holding onto their "Brummie" made Webleys,as the Turkish ones have a really poor reputation!

Harry as much as I would love to have a HW99 as nice as yours, I couldn't give up the Webley.

Those boys across the pond in the UK build fine rifles.......UK built Webley's, Air Arm, and BSA's. I just missed a UK built Lightning XL by an hour last week....on this very forum.

Your 99 is definitely a keeper........congrats Harry!!

Deanda beware of BSA`s with an "S (for Spain) prefix to the serial no,cos there`s been real issues with the Gamo assembled guns.One guy from my club is now on his 3rd mainspring in his new Tactical XL, and there is an ongoing thread on the British "Airgun BBS" about the Lightning Tactical XL and BSA`s quality nose-dive in general.    http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=457694

Good that you have brought this issue up Kenny. A have been diligent about informing new air gunners and those that are not aware of the BSA springer's being made at the Gamo plant in Spain. I have made many posts concerning the issue. Gamo is not into making quality high end air guns. Their market is getting the most money for the least amount of product.. I am concerned that eventually Gamo will take over all the BSA UK made air guns. That will be a sad day.

Just like when Webley/Scott was sent to Turkey. Those great guns are now junk guns. I am very lucky so far. I have two original Weble/Scott air guns and 3 of the original BSA springer's/pcp's.

Gene ,I think Gamo are missing a golden chance to make a good product better.They could improve the BSA springer family, cos lets face it ,rifles like the Supersport /Lightning Family are solid; but they are bit old-fashioned (replacing the BSA hardened steel barrel pivot with a proper shim/threaded bolt set up, would be an improvement for a start).

Gamo have so much going for them with synthetics/innovative stock design, that they should blend the best of Gamo with BSA.But they seem to be going for a quick buck instead,which is a real shame !
