Do Not Buy An HW97K Unless You Can Handle Awesome!

Very nice rifle and I can't really disagree with anyone's comments. I opted for the .22 HW97K with thumbhole stock, and mounted a vintage RWS 4-16X40 AO scope. I really enjoy the consistency of fixed barrel putting pellets on target and relative lack of hold sensitivity of this rifle/stock combination.  It shoots best with H&N FTT. However, I am saving for a TX200 in .177....should make an awesome do-all battery.

i agree. But do not settle for buzz... get it tuned. You think is awesome now??? it will blow your mind!!!! I hear the 97k Is the new TX...lol I got both but my blue laminate .20 cal is just... special.

Thanks for your comments. I have been reading about your .20. The buzzy thing takes a back seat to the out-of-the-box accuracy. Vortek is in the cards some day.

Congrats! And get that Vortek kit for it too. IMHO the best mod for a 97,no question. I have one on a 97 TH cal. 20 and itīs unbelievable. A fellow shooter has one on his cal. 22 and itīs as good on that one too which makes me believe itīs the best DIY kit on the market for a 77/97. Itīs a good idea to have it in stock mode for a while though and then go for the kit. Youīll see what an improvement it makes to an already great rifle.

Do you have the 2G or the PG2 kit ?

 PG2 in fullpower version. Best of both worlds- quiet, buttery smooth and powerful
