Rouge Shoot Part 2

I am well aware of much negative publicity about the Rogue. Having said that I want you guys to know I did not buy this thing. It was a gift from my Daughter and Son in Law. I did not have the heart to refuse it or tell them I would prefer something else. I have read evrything the web has to offer about anyone who has posted anything related to the Rogue. There just is not that much owner related stuff out there. Most of whats out there are a couple of tests and several hunting videos. I have studied the comments on this forum to glean anything that might help this thing shoot consistantly. I have learned a great deal and I think I can get acceptable hunting accuracy from it.

I just finished a 3 shot string and this time I used 145gr. Nosler ballistic tips with the 170 gr. program on the high setting. Yesterday I used the same bullet with the correct weight setting on Med. power. I refilled to near the original starting press. for each shot. Also today I discharged 1 shot before shooting for a group. If and when my tank comes in i can do more testing.

Thanks for sharing your information with us.
The first shot situation does get better with some break in, both with time and shooting.  I have had mine for almost a year  now and as a whole, the gun has gotten better in that time.  Right now I have it loaned to a friend at work who has a permit to take deer that are damaging his crops. Because he can take deer at any time by any reasonable technique, his spotlighting with a 223 gave the neighbors a pause for concern.  My friend has a lot of shooting and hunting experience and he thought the Rogue is a much more appropriate rifle for what he is doing.  After he got sighted it in for himself and tried a handful of shots, he put it in his gun safe. OT at work kept him from really trying it.   But after 2 weeks he came in grinning one day.  Straight from the gun safe he had taken one from his front porch with a head shot (his preferred technique) at 60 yards. I asked him again, and he said, yes, right from the gun safe.  So I think your first shot situation will diminish with a little more time.

After a near 3 month delay my 4600psi Benjamin tank came in. Went to a local welding store and leased a 6000psi nitrogen tank. Man that thing is heavy. Talked to the online guru about transfer hoses and valves and expect to be up and shooting in a week or so. Hopefully I can get this thing dialed in with several bullets soon.

Well, finally got all the pieces of this puzzle assembled and was a bit nervous as I transferred the first fill into my Benjamin tank. Filled the Rogue three times and emptied several clips. Headed down to the creek and shot at some floating leaves about 80 yds. out. Wind and work have kept me from more shooting. Have 3 days off next week and there's a coyote on camera using one of my deer crossings. Plan on using a friends chrony and trying various bullets. Can't legally hunt deer in my state yet but yotes and hogs better watch out.

My main game is Fox and Coyote at Night
Currently I am running my Mrod in.25 at 60 FPE with a shroud extension and LDC and it works very nice
But I really wanna go bigger in caliber so I can take body shots on coyotes
Let us know how she handles as you break her in some

The end has not yet been reached:-) For some reason, (Grandson, work, weather) I have yet to get near my friends chrony. I am on my second box of 95 gr. hollow points. They are accurate and very quiet on low setting. Have just got around to shooting the 68 gr. round balls some and they too are quite accurate. I am really curious what sort of speed might be archived with these light projectiles. I hope to have more info. to share in a week or so.
