You have inspired me.  I was going to repaint my 454 the standard black, but instead decided to be different.  My choice:  chrome with black grips.  Pictures will be added as soon as I finish.

This is my Crosman 1600, soon to be a 454 once I add the adjustable rear sight.  I painted it Rustoleum chrome with flat black grips.  I have not fired since I reassembled it, but I did polish the bb feed rails so hopefully that will not be a problem.
