Tim, sweet pics, thank you. Sloth, thanks for the holster info and Nikko for the trigger shoe advice. Was thrilled to get my pistol today, it looks brand new in every respect, has no wear at all, I hate to even shoot it. But somehow got over it and did:-). All I can say is that I see what all the fuss was about. This is one absolute perfect pistol in many respects, I love the compact size and yes its a tank. Very well made. Found a trigger shoe that fit and it and i'm out back halfway through a can popping session:-)

Well, now it has a wear mark or two.. It really was a basically unshot gun, 50-75 shots into it and I could see silver appearing on the sides of the barrel where it clips into the breech. Not to many of these being broken in anymore and I feel priveledged. Jon b., you're right, gotta watch that barrel or it'll get away from you :-) and another note, I don't think any of this is plastic other than the grips, appears to be some kinda pot metal making up the frame. Chunky little thing. J

The whole front end of the gun is plastic and so is the trigger guard.
...and the safety too.

Sure enough is but I had to really look close, at least they used "good" plastic. I'm surprised that not many other self contained pistols with lines like this one were ever on the market, just the feel and weight of this gun makes it a joy to shoot. Pretty cool they're bringing it back in a limited edition model. J

Absolutely they used good stuff, plastic or not - that pistol is nothing but nice quality everything
Enjoy it my friend, they don't make them like that anymore.
I think the new ones are Turkish, not English blood like the one you're holding.

Has anyone bought one of the new ones who would be able to compare them to the English made ones?
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/webley-tempest-centennial?m=2239
Pyramyd has them in stock at the moment.
Looks like they are priced about the same as they were when I bought mine back in 93' (around $300 is all I remember about what I paid)

Yikes! 300?!
I paid $125 for mine brand new.
...but that was back in 1986 (a San Rafael model).

I think the Tempest was just under $300 at the shop in my hometown in 1993. The Hurricane was over $300.
It's been almost 20years so i could be remembering that wrong. I was looking at some Ruger Mark IIs at the same time I bought the tempest and I remember the price being about the same. I went with the tempest because I thought I'd get more use out of it than a Powder Burner since I was about to start college and that proved true.

Hey thanks Mike, will do. My chrony's loaned out for the moment but i'll definitely be doing the numbers soon as it comes back. My guess though, is that its pretty slow:-). Accuracy wise, the beeman silverbears came out ahead of predators and crosman 7.9s. I was getting 2"-3" groups at 18 yards, rested. Just a plinker but is definitely the coolest airpistol i've ever had. I appreciate your post! Jeff

Love me some Tempests! Thanks for posting those, I had a similar one like the one in wearing the combat grips and shoe in your pics. Mine was a San Rafael, had select cocobolo wood and it was the sweetest shooter. I miss having a Tempest.
I took my Hurricane with me camping a couple of weeks ago. It was a ton of fun plinking a bunch of cans and bottles. I forgot how accurate this little guy is! I wasn't missing anything once I warmed up
