Working on my Trail NP XL stock

I just spent a few hours working on my NP XL stock, reshaped a few areas rounded a few corners and most of all scraped off that awfull paint, the wood looks nice under it, I need to go down to 150, 220, 320 grit than I can stain it, I like the shape i got and if the stain job comes out good I think it will be quite a sweet new stock.

Good deal, be sure to post pictures. I'm wanting to do some work on mine but I need the time to really do it right. Too many projects needing my attention right now. Let us see your progress.
Happy Shooting!!!!

The grip is one thing I hate when I had my Trail XL. It felt like you were holding a 2X4.

Actually I don't mind the grip, compared to the maurader stock ( that one was truly horrible ) The reshaping was minimal mainly I wanted to get rid of the plastic finish, I just stained, and wasn't all that great of a job due to shortcomings in my sanding, even when i make bows the later stages of sanding are allways bad, I just get impatient and rush it
gonna get a couple of coats of TRU OIL and put it back together tomorrow.

Sounds like fun, I didn't reshape my XT stock when I did it. Snap some pics of yours and post.
Speaking of tru-oil, here's my Storm XT stripped/stained peeeecan/tru-oiled. Rookie job, but I had fun.

Alan:
That does not look like a rookie job from here. Nice work.
Jay:
I know what you mean about thumb holes...What I want to know is who is so smart at Crosman that they bring out a great line of technology(npss) but only in thumb hole stocks. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot for a definite % of the available market. Bob
