Handmade/homemade Big Bore Air Rifle

I have been participating on the BenjiGate but thought I might share my project... I built this gun about fifteen years ago..... I has been barreled in cals .17, .22, .308, and 9mm... It made about 60+ ftlbs on CO2 shooting a 65gr ball 650fps...... I have recently made a discovery concerning my hammer spring that was very surprising.... The hammer spring(tried MANY) came from my .45 auto and I thought that it was pretty stout.... When I recently took apart one of my Benjamins I found the spring wire thickness to be 2-3 times thicker than the spring I was using.....  Finally I got an HPA bottle and was going to start developing it on air... I don't think that the CO2 spring even knocked the valve open... With all of the assembly and disassembly I kind of wore it out and when the HPA bottle jumped a thread. I almost had a COW.. Luckily the bottle had a manual valve and didn't become a problem.... I am shopping for a lathe, milling machine and TIG machine... when I get set up I am going to repair it.......

thx for sharing...
Nice to see what keeps one of the streets.

Good luck with finding a lathe.
