All this hype and talk about Gamo trigger updates and improvement's is nothing more then a different look and maybe another adjustment screw. The only way to actually improve the trigger is to pull it out and put in the GRT trigger. I've tuned countless Gamo's from midpowered to Magnums and all have the same trigger other then when they went to the new plastic design. Gamo's been hearing about their tragic trigger design for so long that they decided to improve it and maybe they did a little but don't let a fancy looking trigger blade fool you. Now we move to the insides the powerplant of the midpowered springers are the same nothing new and that go's for the magnum springers also. The ram powered Gamo is another option if your looking for a different power source. The only real changes that I've noticed from Gamo through the years is the tophat design and weight and the new plastic trigger design to improve pull. One thing they should change is the plastic spring guide spacer in back on the older models which can break or crack in half. The spring end catchs it and dig's in until it does so. The newer design on the plastic triggers is thicker and looks better built. If Gamo would do what Crosman has down and put a metal spacer in there the problem would vanish. The Gamo HP is the only one that has me wondering since it show's more power and I'm very interested at getting a look inside. I don't now if it's a slight spring change or heavy tophat or piston that push's the fps up. I haven't tuned one yet and really want to get a look. Gamo's can be a great shooter but TLC is required and it's always a plus to get a Gamo out of the box that show's promise in the accuracy department. Ed

A very interesting view regarding the newer Gamo guns Ed and as I see it, pretty much on the money. 

 The thing that really makes a difference in today's springer Gamo, and that being a negative one,  is the spring guide and block design. Though it can be improved, it is now much more difficult and almost impossible to make a dramatic major improvement in the very rough firing cycle where as with the older designed guns, you were able to make extreme improvements and a really great shooter in comparison.    Just not as much to work with anymore.  It's my personal view that the newer designs was actually a step backward. Cheaper design with less efficiency. 

And... the IGT (Integrated Gas Technology) I believe it is, is nothing more than another gas ram with a fancy acronym. 

Just my opinion for what it's worth. I'll probably catch h3ll for this one.

I agree about the block design and guide in the new Gamo's Bob and now it's more work to make a new delrin guide for these to dampen twang and vibration. Ed

Ed,  Thanks for attempting to clarify the SAT trigger hype.  I seems to me that we will all have to wait to see if it really is an improvement or just another sales gimmick.  I don't think any plastic trigger will compare to a well machined trigger like the GRT but if SAT goes from unusable to usable that is an improvement worthy of some hype.

I'm sure when you or another reliable source gets one in their hand, we will then know if the the trigger lives up to the hype, and if it does that shows that Gamo has finally taken a some action and is not completely deaf!

I don't think that the SAT hype is on par to Hastan Fever   Anyways, I'm going to defer judgement until I hear otherwise.

The point is Tom that it is the same modular trigger as I understand it that they came out with a couple of years ago.

Hey Ed... if you catch this perhaps you can tell me/us. Have you seen any kind of manufacturing change in the Gamo modular trigger?? Maybe you have seen something that I've not heard about or seen. 

Unless they have done some production change that I'm not aware of in the last few months or so, nothing about it has changed and is the same modular trigger that they have used for the past couple of years but they had to give it a name simply for marketing purposes to try to try to overcome the negative exposure and publicity that they were carrying on their shoulders.   They had try to do something to bring their market share back up including bringing their "IGT" on line with as I said before, a fancy acronym. 

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really down on Gamo. It's just that in my opinion, their marketing strategy is both questionable as well as maybe a little misleading for those with little or no past Gamo airgun exposure.

 But then so is most all other mass marketing.

I've noticed on the new trigger design that they have changed the springs inside slightly along with the safety spring on the side. Some springs have bent tab's that sit in front of the sear and others are behind it but I think it's just what they grab out of the bin and put in it when assembling. Ed

I can see the springs being put in either way. It really would not make any difference as the torsion factor would be the same regardless of which way they would happen to be installed.

Very good info Ed and Bob.  Thanks for the heads up.  I for one was excited to see Gamo changing things but as you guys say, no real changes from Gamo.  Sad to see IMO

They would have been better off not mentioning the trigger.. now people will expect a "Smooth Action Trigger" and be mad they where lied too. I like Gamo's as well as the other similar priced Airgun's so I not running them down. They have some really nice power to weight ratios and I would like to try a couple. I just don't like the plastic being around the breech blocks. Makes me also wonder how much steel is left in the barrel.

I still think the Gamo's can be a diamond in the rough but if they would just leave them alone. Stop spending money on stock gimmicks and trigger changes that do nothing more go to work inside the airgun with better quality and CUSTOMER SERVICE! which as of now is tragic. Ed

It's obvious that Gamo is not building their guns for us.  The diamond in the rough is what attracts us but I'm sure they will never build a non-entry level springer and maybe that is a good thing.  Same for Crosman springers IMO.

It is a shame about their customer service.  I do understand not wanting to sell parts to endusers but they certainly should have factory repair tha is bar none to make up for their policy.  Obviously they don't

Not many are building guns for us.  For example, the US market share for Diana is something like ten or thirty per cent.  These companies are, for the most part, building guns for the non-discriminating shooter who might want to pot rats around his granary in Timbuktu.

When I asked earlier about the SAT trigger I had done some internet searches.  Seems this moniker was being used maybe two years ago.  Maybe not here in the US.
