Different Trail NP Stock ?

I think that some of my prob with getting my Trail NP to dial is the stock. With my thumb in the hole in the stock, I don't get a good purchase on the tuna trigger. If I pull my thumb out and put it on top, then I get the proper trigger feel on the old trigger squeezer. Is there any regular style stocks or someone that can make, or modify an existing stock ?? Never was a big fan thumb-hole stocks.

Same with me. I have to have my thumb over the top for it to feel right.

I have the big hands/thumbhole problem also. For what it is worth, here is what I have discovered. The over the top style hold increased my accuracy, but how and why? Again this worked for me. I noticed that top hold style removed the amount of focus on my right hand.(no knuckle pain, relaxed grip, less tension in right hand and arm). This in turn increased the percentage of available concentration for sighting, and RETRAINED my right hand for less control(a good thing in ag shooting).
Once I realized what was going on, I purposefully applied that info to shooting with the thumbhole grip, but in a more relaxed manner. I really did not feel that I was over controlling, but I WAS. The more relaxed shooting style allowed my ag(titan gp) to float more, and from everything I have read, that directly equates to accuracy. I sincerely believe this helped me. Also, I have a tendency to ramble, plus a very analytical mind. Thanks for your tolerance and I hope this helps…….Whadaya think?

Ya Bob there are some beautiful thumb hole stocks out there. For the life of me I just cannot shoot as accurately with my thumb in dat hole...
I have large meat hooks as well and most of the lower end guns, my thumb just willl not fit but even on the high end models I would not be cofortable shooting them either. Just you plain run of the mill ambi stocks fit me the best..

I'm looking for a nice straight comb classic style rifle stock for my Trail NP. No Monte-Carlo type cheekpieces or other fancy stuff. Lean and mean. The gun is starting settle in (I think) and with every shot I get more frustrated with the stock. Either I find a different stock or I am gonna have to do some trimming with band-saw !!

Any of the Quest type stocks should fit the Trail. You can switch them around to try it and see if it is an improvement. I switched mine with a Summit stock and made a nice looking rifle of it......
