New version CPHP 7.6gr

There was a change with the Premier hollow points 7.9gr to 7.6gr, now made in Spain. They appear to be the same as the Daisy/Winchester/Gamo .177 hollow point offerings, although I haven't 100% confirmed this yet.

Little known secret?  The apolo jumbos have a similar base to the crosman base (not the new one).  Like a half full cup.

I've only bought the .177 Daisy hollow points a couple of times but they grouped as well as the best tins of CPHP I've gotten in recent years.

I have a couple of rifles that do well with the Daisy/Winchester hollow points. If the new Premier pellets are the same just rebranded, not all is lost (IMO). One downside of the switch is the original Crosman lead-antimony (I guess it's called) was harder than most pellets, beneficial in certain circumstances. Then again, I'm not sure they ever really expanded.

If the new line of Premier pellets happens to have the same lead antimony (or are identical) as Daisy/Winchester/Gamo hollow points (basically dead soft lead) they will expand very well. In my testing for maximum expansion at 25-30 yards (with Diasy/Win. Pellets), they will have to be shot at ~975fps (@ muzzle). Unfortunately, this limits the range to ~40 yards before pellet spiraling. That being said, I haven't had any luck with Daisy/Winchester pellets beyond 40 yards in any of my guns. Tested more than a couple rifles and on several I tried to tune for various velocities, between 600-900+ fps trying to get best accuracy. The pellets just plain destabilize to some degree at distance at any velocity, BUT... Within 40 yards they perform well for plinking/pesting duties.

IIRR, when I did the pencil hardness test on all the pellets I had around here, I think that the Crosman 22 CHP were in the 7/8 class, fairly hard, due to the Antimony that they added.

I have looked in 2 different stores and all they had were the Older weight, I need to find some so I can add it to my pellet spec's XL program, with it's 500 entry's.

Well as far as I'm concerned Crosman pellets don't exist anymore

In addition to being harder pellets, the skirts were also more filled in than most other pellets. 

It's kind of weird that winchester and crosman pellets are now spanish as their barnding has always been iconic american.  I wonder if the branding will change, for instance less red white and blue crosman packaging.
