Daisy VL 22ammo for the Hendon rifle

does anyone sell the VL-22 ammo?  or has anyone tried to make this caseless ammo?

Short answer is no.  And no.  As far as I know.  It comes up on ebay from time to time.  Maybe Gunbroker.  You could put up a 'wanted ad' on one of the rimfire or PB sites.  I sold mine a few years ago, along with a couple boxes of ammo.  At that time, no aftermarket ammo was being produced.

That thing is a piece of eye candy,  presentation model,   I though  maybe a person could make some light plastic bullets to make it shoot like a compression rifle , with its short compression stroke it doesnt have much power, but with a light projectile it might get a couple hundred fps, or just make a nIce wall hanger, I think it was only made a couple of years?
maybe best to invest in something that can  be used properly.  Thanks for the reply!

I never shot mine, the ammo was too precious.  I read online from others who claimed they were loud and not particularly accurate, so might as well get a 22 long rifle.  Interesting rifle with interesting history for sure.  I wonder if it would push a pellet out under compression alone?  Maybe the airsoft bb's?

Basically this is a firearm. The difference is it uses a "springer" engine to diesel-ignite a caseless propellant instead of a pin & primer. I guess they thought they could make cheaper "caseless" ammo and grab a profitable chunk of the 22-rimfire market? Didn't work. Me thinks 2 reasons... ATF classification (correctly IMHO) and the huge volume of 22 rimfire mfg & sales made price competition not as easy as it originally seemed.

Sorry guys.  The VL .22 is technically a firearm although it does have some air gun roots.  As such it is not appropriate to discuss it further on this forum.
