Very few non-AO scopes would focus down to 30 yards, and it should also be in low magnification.

I have a 1-4x20 LPVO with the parallax set at 100 yards though that I don't have a problem with even at less than 10 yards @ 4x.

The small objective bell enables me to do that.

I opened the Rex Premium 1-30 red dot last night and it was DOA. Just a dead CR2032 battery though, probably been sitting around for a while somewhere.
Haven't shot with it enough to give a review, but it seems to work well enough for a $16 (with shipping) red dot.

Can someone elaborate the way to change the AO setting on a non AO scope, I've never done one before.

I just did one today -- on the objective lens there should be an adjustment ring inside the bell at the edges.  It has 2 slots 180 degrees apart.  Find a tool (I use the ID measurement end of a cheap metal calipers) to engage those slots and rotate the ring counterclockwise to focus closer.  I think I moved it no more than 90 degrees total. Move it a little, check it, move it a little, check it...  I set mine for about 30 yards and it's still really bad at 10 yards, but at least it's better than it was.  If I was shooting from 10 to 30 yards regularly, I might split the difference and get it sharpest at 20.  Mostly I shoot at 25-35 yards, so I settled on 30.

Oh, yeah, do the adjustment at max magnification, where focus/depth of field seems to be less forgiving.

Ok. I see.. you went through the outer ring.. I was having trouble picturing it on the AO ring.

I don't think it's useless Bill.  You can always use it to bash a rattler's head in, if it's still moving after you 've shot it

 Finally! Yesterday it warmed up some, not a cloud in the sky, and No Wind! I got to zero my 3x9x40 lighted reticle scope on my souped up 362! ( Thanks again Bill!). 10 pumps, 25 yards cphp, man this thing thumps! Anyway, 1st shot 10 clicks low, 4 clicks right.  4 clicks left, 12 up, and hitting hair above dead center! Both red and green reticles light up great. It does have a slight color tinge on the outer edges, but nothing bad unless you crank the lighting up in the dark. Imho, well with the price, so far anyway. Have paid a lot more for them not to dial in at all before.

 Just a word of caution they may or may not be waterproof, I swamped one trying to loosen the objective by using alcohol to try and loosen the bonding agent they used. ran right inside the tube

I’m wanting a new scope for my Beeman Raider.  Doesn’t have to be Magnum springer proof.  The current 2-7X32 Winnie is adequate but the field of view is a bit narrow and it’s not as clear as a $300 scope. Big wa.
I’d like a 40mm adjustable objective and a mil dot reticle.  Not critical but it would be nice.  It doesn’t need to have a lot of magnification or IR but it does need to be light and clear.

Now that some of y’all have some experience with these Rex scopes can anyone recommend one that would fit my needs?

I have never been let down by the 3-9x40ao Rex scope. Plenty bright, good field of view and the AO works as it should!
