When you upgrade to another breech (aluminum or steel) do you have to get a new probe too? Or does the current probe unscrew and thus reusable?

They unscrew. Also, they don’t come with rear caps and the hole is smaller than an OEM breech’s.I had one but didn’t like the finish, so I gave it away.I’m too picky and don’t like imperfections 😂
Well, look what I found. https://www.alliancehobby.com/milledrearsight.htmMan, this gun is getting expensive. Going to wait on this upgrade though. What is the benefit of a steel breech if not needing the dovetails? Is it because it is sturdier than the plastic and could help with accuracy?I found out that the steel breech is 6.8 ounces. Can't find a weight on the Baker aluminum.
Benji397, Here's your chronograph report. I ran a mint rear cocking 1377 with newer 22 cal upper, I think it's sick and needs to go to the doctor. The daughter's gun, on the other hand, made a pretty good showing, I'm impressed! I put 2 drops of oil on the pump cup and went at it. It's stock except for a 2300 (I think) sear spring and guide, it has a great trigger.

Metal is stronger/stiffer, holds the barrel more firmly, but depending on your needs/expectations, may be overkill. Here are the weights, Baker aluminum should be similar to Ebay aluminum. "Steel" means it is modeled after Crosman's steel breech -- longer than stock, and with dovetails for a scope.Stock breech (plastic, no dovetails) -- 0.46 ozEbay "Steel" POM plastic breech -- 1.26 ozEbay "Steel" aluminum breech -- 2.43 ozCrosman Steel breech -- ~7.0 oz (ouch)
I got the Buck Rail LDC kit installed. What a pain to get that rolled pin out. I installed the Buck rail hinge pin kit. That should have been on the gun to start with. The LDC works great!!Now I've realized using the rear sights isn't for me. My purpose for this gun will be in the 4 to 6 yard range and shooting about 2 inch targets. What would be a good sight for me. BTW, I have to use my glasses when using the stock sights and that isn't ideal. Thinking red dot might be the way to go but have never used one. Looking at videos, it seems you can still see the dot even if not looking straight through the sight. How do you know the dot is lined up correctly with the target (after correctly zeroing the dot) if you don't see it in the exact middle of the optics each time? All shooting will be in daylight or almost dusk so which style is better? Tube or open. And what MOA size dot would be best for my purposes?Examples: Tubehttps://www.ebay.com/itm/276609719863?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D272611%26meid%3D7b4d0f2b7ee342c4abec0127212c498f%26pid%3D101875%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D186624741284%26itm%3D276609719863%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimVIDwebV3WithCPCExpansion%26brand%3DTasco&_trksid=p2332490.c101875.m1851&itmprp=cksum%3A2766097198637b4d0f2b7ee342c4abec0127212c498f%7Cenc%3AAQAJAAABAKAOBbj8c9I6eO4vPyI9FfMl8NhNqsULUU1TfDUZ7khl4SnoSPUB2G1lXJJQzsqptRfd2m6rY8FVbXxnFkVjNK9nC%252B58bnfUn%252BQP%252FPbhBGJxeErMi8I64aps0qVFTeXqIz6w63soZdEIgGQCQKjD6LWmf8oOJhGeCC0u%252FD2H3C5lNu8Xnq%252FwDT5m%252B8mNQjRvaVTujUrhw%252BXLrOJmbMGfD28yOJrVu07%252F2fsbtZTDVLCpVU%252B4EPX0e99JRcu9WZdFvKhnCvd1XRMWSLrW3%252BlgSRfnZ5Hhh%252BFWDep6nwzx8eJGpveazVPMORXWZCjwKBw94JcMA7Z5ArujHRVq09bLZBQ%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2332490&epid=6034615854&itmmeta=01J6Z2RKWGSYDJ1HQS6DQDS3SWOr Openhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/395112691275?_nkw=CVLIFE+Reflex+Sight&itmmeta=01J6Z55RS68JSZB86P0KZ3YJDW&hash=item5bfe8d364b:g:bm4AAOSwLW9ll2oi&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKmzZ2V4ans%2F7cqWG2bb3d%2FKPGcR7Ut%2B2KnZw%2F7IRGnGIvS8DRzhiRLu8y%2BmmIdPzaq20L6l4e0250NV0LQImpJg6T2mdZdTI17QXDQgfMNTlDQCHq8SHqqUue2JF3oNRRSmj8ohxGiXjN4X0QdeMQ1KEmvn6UUMxAa3gqCyWqTKJZ%2FPhqasB7E%2F0MjgyOJNwjzKkASkwLYMcPOkBq9OHHWMM3DfAlk4yKnOqSc5Yle%2FJotckQA01HAQEkzoOeRt89Uby2lwMgmZSS%2BV--Yf9MH8nNZGp%2FfMqcniQZqSV8guRg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9iMl-W3ZAPlease give opinions. And yes, I'll get a breech.
okay, I have and use Red Dots. Not the same thing as a Laser sight. Red Dot will only show up in your glass. Laser will appear where you point the thing. I believe you set it for a specific distance you are shooting. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't work well for me. I have tried one and didn't like it, but that's JMHO.

This one works and doesn’t need an adapter; rail is reversible and works on dovetail cuts.
