60 G-hogs !

 Well folks , I hit # 60 g-hog w/ air this afternoon . The Katran w/ JSB Knockouts have done well to 60 yrds . I have taken a couple at 70 + , but that's pushing it for me as all my shooting is off bipod/ tripods and I just can't hold well enough for longer. I pulled out "Old Faithful" ,my Hatsan FlashPup for a couple shots last week . It's tuned rather warm and the JTS 21.53 semi dome ( flat nose ) do quite well to 50 ish yrds . Nickle groups benched & bagged for 5 shots.  Combined air ,coniber traps & small pb's , I've taken 116 hogs from the three farms . The cleanup crew has been eating well .

MARTIN! 60 ghogs with air, fantastic shooting...holy moly! You are on a roll sir! 116 total, that's amazing! Getting  just ONE with air will make my bucket list pretty successful...😂👍

Nice job Martin!  You have broken the record (probably mine, hehe) for the most Ghogs taken in 1 season on the GTA.  I think the most Ghog kills I had with air in 1 summer was 35-40, and that was all on my 3/4 acre property (my backyard), not acres of farmland.  I wish I had the time to hunt on permissions.  Maybe when I retire.  We have a good amount of farms on the outskirts of town and neighboring towns.

Too bad we have not seen a single one you 've shot though   You know what some people say... no pics, it didn't happen   Just kidding. 60 Ghogs is an awesome feat and the summer is far from over!  Keep after them.

 Harry , I do apologize for my lack of internet/ computer skill . I do take cell ph pics & send them to some folks in email or text msg.s ,but that's about the extant of my skill level . My Queen still rolls her eyes when she takes my cell & copies & pastes  pics or such ( huh , show me that again , never mind !). I've mentioned before that I'm on the outskirts of a college town w/ these farms bordered on three sides w/ schools ,churches or housing developments . I have ranges over 600 yrd.s visibility some directions . It's just not worth the hassle of somebody on a walking / biking path phoning in a call about a noise complaint or even scarier " a man w/ a gun " near ... ! I've met people walking or walking pets through the farm when I've been afield and had the chance to converse w/ them . Most all have been accepting of my task or enlightened . A few don't / didn't know the owner of the property ( imagine that  and they just walk out of the development , cross the road & walk on the dirt or gravel road as if its a public park ( could they do that on the neighbors lawn ? ) !

 Between Sat. & today (Mon) I added 5 more hogs to the list . I've got my eye on a few more that could be done w/ airgun if I get the timing right . The corn is tall enough in spots to do some upright stalking to set up some ambushes .

 Well , today I hit 70 g-hogs ! I've tried ( my queen assisted also ) loading/posting w/ my phone pics to no avail. Cropped the photos to fit etc. guess neither of us are techie enough to get it . Anyhow , the Katran w/ JSB Knockout MK 2's are doing the job , 5 one shot kills this week.

 Good shooting on the G-Hogs Martin! Me I just been too worn down to do much shooting by the end of the hot days here, mainly too tired to take and post my dead pest pics as of late LOL

Nice job Martin!  I seem to have run out of Ghogs this summer    I 've confirmed with the neighbor that there is 1 possibly 2 Ghogs a couple of houses down, but they haven't attempted to venture to my property yet that I know of. 

I did get 2 Starlings the last couple of days with the Gauntlet .22 and the Maurader pistol (Prod) .22.  I haven't bothered the Starlings much so far this Spring or summer (because I want them to come to the bait station this winter) they have been landing closer to the house and seem to let their guard down.  But like James said I don't bother taking pics of a Starling or a HOSP here and there and especially when it's hot out.  In the winter when I get 5 or 6 Starlings within 1 or 2 hours after a snow storm or a very cold spell, I will be posting some of them.

 Buddyb , As for eating g-hogs , no , the grocery stores are a lot easier to get meat on the plate !! I have eaten them as a young man. Now they are just free meals for the Eagles , vultures & coyote.
 Harry , I feel the same about pics & tallies of pest birds , I gather up sparrows if I can , same w/ pigeons , & give them to the farm cats . Starlings go to the compost /manure pile ,cats won't eat them. 
 James , If not for retirement I doubt I'd have the numbers I have. I do a bit of driving over all the farms for scouting. When I get a line/timing on the g-hogs ,
 I set up a sniping spot and out comes one of my folding stools ,shooting sticks ,snacks & drinks ,depending on how long I will sit. At times these old bones tell me when they've had enough!
