For a couple decades I've been using an Outers .22 rimfire bullet trap made of welded steel like this............
The trap is occasionally emptied into an empty kitty liter bucket and then the "smashed pellets" are melted down to make fishing sinkers........
I think the Outers trap is discontinued however Champion currrently offere a similar trap...........

Containing pellets from spinner hits is a real problem! depending on where they hit, the fragments can fly off on almost any direction. Misses are a different problem! Based on my experience, (no pictures available) you will need a box with at least 3/8" (1/2" would be better) plywood to catch materials flying off the paddles. I would say at least 4-6" bigger on all sides, and at least 2 feet deep. A lip, say 2", around the front, is also necessary to keep things from dribbling out the front. For the back, a plate of 12-16 ga steel, backed up with 1/2" plywood, angled , with a pile of rags (to contain lead coming off the steel) at the bottom will do it. Since that target is 16" wide, and 22" high, a bot about 24" wide, and 30 " high, should be about right.
You almost can't make the containment box too big!

I tossed an old sweat shirt in my trap to help some with pellets leaving the trap, I still get dust in the front from targets and splattered pellets. If it were deeper it would contain most of it.

I built a pellet trap out of pressure treated pine. The attached photos show the progress. The big thing is it has an angled removable back panel. I staple sheets of shingles to the back panel and change as needed. It has 3 horizontal removable slats that I staple strips of used carpet to. 3 slats with 2 layers each for a total of 6 total layers for the pellet to travel through. I attached a stretch of wire to hang paper targets and squares of raw metal to for that ping sound! Lastly there is a shelf on the bottom for standing targets to be placed. To recover the pellets I just sweep them from the bottom of the enclosure. Works great. Thought I would share.
