I also use a sitting tool, a small brass punch that I cut off all but a tip that determines pellet depth. The overall length of the small tip is only .200 thousands. This sitting tool improves my velocity according to the chrono -good tip for the new guys like me.  I don't remember who taught me that, long ago.

At 105° outside, it's parlor pistol weather today.

It's not that cold today, but pretty windy so I broke out the daisy Target specials for some shooting.

I have been shooting and collecting Marksman BB guns.  A Morton Harris single shot in chrome is an excellent parlor pistol. Must be a few others collecting them too because someone is buying those Ebay listing, I mean besides me. 
These Marksman air pistols hold special signficance in childhood memories.  I missed the target then and I miss now with them.   I practiced and practiced and still the gun misses.

I'm betting most people just want to collect them for the nostalgia.
For me I don't want guns I'm not going to enjoy shooting or really be able to shoot.

I am semi tempted to get one of the extended barrel Marksman pistols I had as a kid just because I had one, but I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it and there's just no point in taking up space that could be used for a better pistol.

I know a lot of people don't hold the Daisy target specials in very high regard, but in my experience they are excellent Laz-y-boy parlor pistols. They shoot better than a marksman and while not tack drivers by any stretch they do plenty good enough for 10 foot shooting.

People either expect too much,  or are just looking for something more accurate.
If something comes along that offers this kind of quiet living room safe velocity with far better accuracy I'll buy , but until then I love my Daisy target specials.
I've had a number of airsoft spring pistols that could keep the BB's all inside 1" at 5yds, but that's a different story.
