Anyone wanting to try a co2 shooter should get the ASG Tac4.5. It's one of the most efficient co2 guns I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure I'm getting close to 200 shots per cartridge.
My M1 carbine is a cool gun, especially since I bought mine with wood furniture. But it barely works though, I can sometimes get a full magazine out of it but usually it freezes up and stops after a few shots.

I found through testing that the Hornady Black BB's work best in these gas-operated blow-back air guns.
When I was a teen I recall firing the (model 25?) pump rifle, and more often a Red Ryder. Got off a snap-shot at close range and hit a bird on the fly with the latter. Dumb luck of course. Also fired a 1911 once or twice.Honestly, I don't recall any of these being anywhere near accurate. I never owned a bb gun, my 1st shooter was a Ruger Super Blackhawk (didn't shoot bb's )I noted 1" at 15 yards mentioned, but sorry, I just don't believe it, at least not consistently. I have some CO2 carts for a Daisy 408, some BBs around here too. I think I'd be interested in anything that was accurate at maybe 10 yards.Caviot is, I agree with David, at least for me, I just can't see shooting a bb expending a CO2 cartridge. As an aside, I'll add that I've never seen a CO2 gun that didn't leak, never, ever. Bad luck?So I hope I'm not hijacking the thread by asking, IS there an off the shelf bb gun that's accurate at 10 yards? Maybe someone would care to sell me one?(So, we have a bb gate, imagine!)
I think that as we've grown older and have a few hundred dollars invested in our guns we just expect the accuracy and we are spoiled by it. For me BB guns just take me back to where it all started. We didn't shoot little dots on paper at 40 - 50 yards. We shot cans and targets of opportunity at 20 - 30 feet or so. I don't remember ever setting up a bench and backstop for shooting a BB gun off a bag when I was a kid. I walked around and shot whatever I saw. Dirt clods, rocks, pine cones on low hanging branches and leaves floating down the creek were our targets.Getting back to that is the fun with BB guns today.
