Mine does share duty with a Chinese amazon pump but has been in use since 2014... lube it here and there... 30 ish pumps then rest let it cool a bit...more pumps at low pressure than high...feel the pump if it is starting to be hot side of warm... let it cool...

the cheap china pumps work good also tho...

Pyramyd air had a sale on .177 Fortitude with Benji hand pump for 220$... so now have two...

pretty sure it is a 3 stage but for me @ 6'2"+smidge and 240lbs pumping to 3000-3300 psi it is good... If I had a 4300 psi rifle like the Badger .40  well that may be a different story..

I'm not far behind you at 6' and 230 lbs. I've got a few 250 bar guns and the 4 stage definitely helps on them.

How is the spare parts availability situation? I'd hate to run into an issue after the warranty ends and be unable to source repair parts for it.

I just shot my Beeman 1358 again and again it was very accurate with CPHP.

Who knew that cheap airguns should be accurate with cheap pellets?
Obviously Beeman, or the Chinese company behind the Beeman name.

The Crosman Icon internals are probably almost identical between various air guns:
Beeman Commander, Chief 2 Plus, etc

The barrel lengths seem to be different.
The air tube capacity is identical 135/136 cc.

The Icon trigger is identical to the Beeman Chief/1358/etc trigger.
It also seems to be the same like older Crosman triggers.

To make my trigger lighter I slightly bent the spring.
I tried using the ball bearing, but the trigger was way to light.

I've got an Air Venturi Hill mk5 that I've been using the last couple few years. It's rated to 4500 but I've only taken it that high a couple times times.

I used a hand pump to pump my avengers to 4250. The pump was rated to 4500. I had used it a few years before the Avengers for 3000 psi guns. After a couple months of the avengers, it broke.

A regulated gun only needs to be pumped 1k or so beyond the reg set point to be enjoyed.

  How am I supposed to say no?? I think I’ll need to reduce some of my other hobby interests QUICKLY!! 
  Opinions welcome.. Would it be better to get a .177 for any reason? I already have a Notos in 22 (as well as a Notro Springer, a Chaser and a couple Crosman CO2 options).  I’ve always preferred 22 for the energy on pests and size of holes in paper (old man eyes) but have never explored any reasons to own 177 in anything other than pistols ( currently enjoy a Walther P99 and two Daisy’s (415 and 426 with buck rail moderators) as well as my OG Crosman 357 revolver).
   Would a PCP in 177 be worth modifying? Are they useful for hunting or benchrest ? THNX

I have quite a few .177 PCP's that work very well in my small game hunting.  While .22 has always been my preferred hunting caliber the .177 guns I own have all taken their share of game very effectively.  Key with both, or any caliber, is simply shot placement which for me means head shots.  .177 also opens up a larger assortment of pellets to choose from, in some cases.  Don't shy away from .177 PCP's for hunting...... they work just fine

Yeah, I'd like to see an actual breakdown to see what Crosman parts are used. According to Tom's 3 part review on PA only the mags, sst and bolt are Beeman Chief like. But the gun is clearly Chinese made.

X2.  Looks like similar factory to the beemans, but has that unf for a moderator and comes with crosman customer service. Worst case is you end up selling it and breaking even since prices are bound to go back up and this deal is crazy good.

Might paint the stock green like the sortie unless it has a real nice texture feel like the gamo arrow, but my guess is it's not like the gamo stock.

Both those guns are new to me and might fight it out for the .177, lightweight offhand shooting niche. Probably don't need both but now have both, chuckling.
