These are my personal things I’ve learned. This isn’t a list of things you have to do but feel free to add:)
1. Don’t sell anything because you’ll just buy more or you’ll need it soon
2. Buy guns that have parts, warranty and service available
3. Buy guns simple to work on
4. Buy guns that don’t stand out and all look the same in the house for the sake of a good marriage
5. Call the manufacturer for technical questions
6. Don’t believe everything said on YouTube airgun reviews (ask me I’ll tell the truth if I’ve owned it)
7. Buy guns with less o rings
8. PayPal credit is your best friend for airgun purchase (6 months zero interest)
9. Buy small guns so they don’t take up space
10. Buy a chronograph don’t guess
11. Have proper tools
12. Try different pellets
13. Understand the “sweet spot” the gun isn’t defective
14. Yes the artillery hold works.
15. Clean your gun with Ballistol and a bore snake.
16. Lube the breach seal with silicone once in a while so it lasts.
17. When you get a gun brand new and it’s defective don’t fix it send it back it’s not your job to fix defects on a gun that should work out of the box.
18. Don’t pay a dealer to make sure the gun is not leaking and functioning it’s just something that must be done.
19. Never tell anyone how many Airguns you actually have.
20. Always keep a borrow gun on hand so you don’t lend the good caviar out.
21. Don’t just replace o rings and parts soap and water works to find leaks.
22. Torque your scope mounts
23. Know your limit
24. Take ethical shots with your airgun (for hunting)
25. It’s probably pressure drop not a leak after filling
26. Make a list of your guns in the Notes app and record the pressures they were at when storing.
27. In the Notes app record the sweet spot pressure for non regulated guns and for regulated guns when the reg drops off
Again remember this is my list of things I’ve learned for me. I’m not trying to teach anything here I’m nowhere as experienced as most folks here.

28. Pellets don’t need to run at 1100fps
29. To me shooting an airgun 100 yards is pointless. The point of an airgun to me is close, quiet, safe and deadly on game.
30. Don’t rip off your fellow airgunners it’s a small village
31. Be good with your dealers and warranty providers

They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

I have learned 4.
1- they can be fixed
2- if it's not accurate try a different pellet
3- you don't have to pump 8 or 10 times every time
4- proper parallel ground drivers / tips are a must
