Quote from: K.O. on August 24, 2023, 07:39:37 AMwell, I can not help but still like what Crosman has got decently right for the last hundred years... but the springers should have been branded Colman or sum'thin else.. Crosman branding should have stayed just pumpers (that incudes PCPs) and co2... Same with Benji and Sheridan...The Benji/Stirling they got right enough to be an exception..? the 2260MB; well at the Least it should have been a 2060 MB.. If it carries the Sheridan name it need be a .20 cal.. could not have been easy to balance price point, parts availability, customer service and such all these years... They have put out air rifles that respond well to very well to Blueprinting/tuning... despite the decline of U.S steel and Alcoa.. Honestly well I think as long as you use a scope to hold the plastic clam shell tight it should not flex a lot... and if not is upgradable to the 2100 clamshell...now that they reduced the price well it may be worth tuning...but could have been something to be as sought after as the first gen 2200 magnum.. https://www.bakerairguns.com/product/crosman-2200-magnum/Crosman did not make me a Daisy fan...Orin Ribar did.. I guess that was why 100 dollars for the 50th anniversary 880 from the Diasy Musem seems worth it... even though it is just a plaque on the stock and certificate that make it one (#257) of a run of 500...in 2014 or so he took the time to confirm my Daisy 953 and another member owned 953 was from 1985 and the proceeds from their sale helped support the US shooting Team...just made me feel like supporting the Daisy Museum as a tribute to him and his knowledge...The Daisy historian...The serial # and an honest 700+ fps with 7.9g pellet was Icing on the cake... been made in China for a while tho.. oh here is a rare-ish Daisy to watch out for.. the R stamped Model 179... http://forum.daisymuseum.com/orin-ribar-and-the-daisy-model-179_topic10301.htmlThe only Daisys I owned were red ryders and a model 25 until I was 50 years old. I've always been a Crosman man, but the 2 362's I got had junk barrels and the 2240 I just got has a plastic receiver that is canted to the side. Crosman ain't what it used to be.

The valve stem for the Crosman 66 is almost the same......the shaft is a tad too long.Easier to make shorter than longer, I guess...... Thank you, Dremel....I'm pretty sure that JGAirguns.biz will have the 2100 receiver halves...... (a check shows only 1 set in stock!)The oriental made parts are SUPPOSED to be drop in replacements for the original US made parts, but no word on when they will be available.I still cannot wrap my mind around them just throwing away all those parts.......... Where is the sense in that??
I converted one of mine to .25 which was my intention from the start. That solved the accuracy issues with it. I finally found a pellet the other one liked well enough to be acceptable and gave it to my son.My 2240 is plenty accurate after a little trigger work, but it bugs me that the breech is canted. I'll probably install a metal one eventually.

Just seems to me that a commemorative airgun should be something special. Not a singing fish wall plaque.

There was one in the old bar when we moved here. I don't know if it worked. I never tried to put batteries in it.
