Well, I do have that dangly cord thing going on. But, it is at least isolated by the interlock, and only hot by intentional actions.

Oops, hastilly posting this morning I did not intend to imply your 'dangly chord' was bad, though a propper 'input receptacle' would be ideal......the way you have it setup offers 'flexiblity'
What I meant was a chord similar to yours going into the distribution panel, directly wired to a breaker, no interlock and likely no strain relief or connector going into the panel, just the hole where the KO was punched out. Or like I said, utilizing the dryer receptacle to back-feed the panel with no regard for the lineman. I've seen more than one portable generator 'blown-up' because the main breaker was on when the utility power came back up on their illegally wired setup. The transformers on the pole do just as good of a job stepping UP voltage as they do down, so feeding it with 120/240vac from an improperly installed gen setup, WILL step up the voltage to dangerous levels on the utility lines. Luckily S.O.P. for lineman is to ground the 'hot-legs' of the utility lines when working on it for repairs, that way they are safe with the 'dead short' in the line that will hopefully trip the breaker on the offending generator, or just dump stray voltage to ground, keeping the lineman safe.
Anyhow, nice job on your setup, simple, effective and safe.
Back to the 'darts'. I'm going to have to try skewers in my P17 to see what kind of velocity I can get, then do the calc to see what kind of energy it may deliver at short range. I don't currently have an issue with mice, but we DO have Chipmunks running wild due to our 'snowbird' neighbors leaving their woodpile a breading ground for the critters. Typical shot on one would be about 7 feet as they try to skirt detection by ducking and weaving through the boxwoods around our foundation. Things are about to get interesting around here.
