300 bar hand pump

Hi all. I tried a search and it didn't help. I have a hill mk something or other bought new in '17 for my talon p. And it works great for that. I have a lelya that can take 300 bar and the poor old pump really struggles to get that. I'm afraid it'll blow its' guts out on me. So is there a better HAND PUMP out there that can handle that pressure? Scuba and or compressors are not an option for me and I'm not at all interested in owning one. Thanks for your time.

That’s as good as it gets with a hand pump and if your saying no to a compressor and a tank. That’s it.
Why are you pumping to 300? Mine does fine pumping to 220 I get 30 shots at that fill. I don’t strain my equipment.
Just cause the car goes 140 don’t make sense to go 140 all the time  it’s your back and pump. Just sayin:)

The lelya is new new to me and that is what it says it can take and specs at edgun inferred that was what I needed for that shot count. So that's what I do. I really am still learning about it. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Holy smokes!! I like the huben pump and that really ain't that bad considering. I also looked at compressors they are not that bad either. Last time I looked they were waaay more than that!!! I really don't mind the hand pump route. But at the prices for compressors nowadays as long as they last and are cheap enough to rebuild if they STB I might check it out. I really dislike using computers so don't know much about the quality of what's out there.

I have this one and have only pumped my brand new 200 CC bottle gun from 0 to 2800 PS once:





Not going to do it again, although I did pump it back to 2600 and haven't shot that AG again. Good thing it's still holding air after 2 years, lol!

Hard work for my Asian frame of 5'8" x 155 LBS.

It is a very solid pump, nothing flimsy about it, but I don't think a handpump would last long if you strain it all the time.

It might be rated for 5000 psi, but it might take the Incredible Hulk to pump it that high.

Well, I started with a Benjamin pump, never let me down in over 3 years. However when it DID, it was a pretty easy rebuild with o-rings supplied by Captain O-ring. (just the first source I found)  I then started thinking about  a 'backup' hand pump and bought a cheepie off Amazon.  Works just fine, also never had an issue, though it has only seen 'test use'.  Then I acquired a brand new Gamo pump with a purchase of an airgun, pulled it out of the box to find it is pretty much the SAME as the 'cheepie' I bought off Amazon, so I left it in the box for safe keeping and to keep all the parts in one place (or if I ever decide to sell it as a new pump).


Then moving into big bore airguns, it became more difficult to keep them up to pressure with just a hand pump, so I did a LOT of research and bought an AirVenturi Krypton compressor.  I already had a few big carbon SCBA bottles donated to me by the local FD when they upgraded their gear and no longer needed them. I also have a paintball 68ci bottle for taking into the field if needed.  The compressor was partly purchased because my Son who is into competitive Airsoft and switched to HPA a few years ago.


In short, it's not worth firing up the compressor for one airgun, or one little bottle, just filiing big bottles.  I thought I would use it a lot more, but I typically only gang fill the bottles.  For small airgun tubes/bottles I just use the hand pump to top it off.  Faster and easier than dealing with the big bottles if shooting in the back yard, unless we're going to spend hours shooting, THEN the bottles come out.


So, the cheep pumps perform very well, on par with the expensive hand pumps, BUT may not hold up quite as well/ long before rebuilding.  IF you don't mind the 'personal time' with your hand pump, it is probably well worth it to save 4x the cost or more on the high doller pumps.
