Dead Pest of the Day

 Well today I christened the FX DRS or as I now will call it DRT  After work I did a lap around the barns managed to shoot a couple HOSP and Starlings, was a windy day up to 30 mph gust, was a challenge when the birds sit still but the branch they are on is moving up to 2 ft when the wind gust.
 I get home and get sight of a rabbit by one of my shrubs he has been destroying, this time it ran to a spot I could get a safe shot, split second later it did a UK Bunny flip 

 I pull up to my parking area, and there is another, pull out the FX DRT and took aim and made this one do a quick death spin. My shrubs will live to see another day

2 parts to this, reply,  How are the rabbits in your area for disease,  Its been a long time since I ate rabbit,  Used to LOVE the hunt, and then the meal that came later that week!

2nd part  my addition today,  this little pest kept getting into work rigs.

 Yeah good riddance to that flea fest     The rabbits are pretty good rarely see sickly ones, that can vary season to season.

I tended to wait till December or January to harvest meat rabbits,  seams like the fleas where mostly gone by then,   ohhhh,  im drooling thinking about rabbit pot pie now!!!

Ranchers used to pay us to go outside the hay sheds and shoot as many as we could,  Got me through some lean times just out of college.  (well wasnt lean,  beer was a higher priority)

Lots of Mosquitos and other bugs, I finally broke out my electric bug fogger, it worked just fine, though it's not an airgun, it did kill a lot of pests...

 Nick popped this one off a log today with the HPA bottled Chaser SBR.
 I missed one twice, with the GK1 first shot it had no clue " that Rocker LDC sure quits down 45 fpe "next shot blew chunks out of the log from under it, wow they can fly LOL

 James , no chippers spotted around our house yet . I do see a red squirrel coming through almost daily . That thing must be on speed ,as it can't stop for more than a millisecond ! Anyway I've trimmed the hosp's down to a point where the bluebirds are having no competition for space in the yard now. I keep a watch out for the crows as I saw one take out a finch nest the other day while we had company arriving and settling in ! I had my sniping spot "put up " ,so I couldn't react in time . Oh, I did manage to take G-hog  #5 the other day at the dairy , a 43 yrd. hit w/JTS 18.1 gr to the noggin behind the ear for a DRT !

 Well folks , I'm at 5 G-hogs w/ air now . Sniped #4 @ 52yrd.s early last week w/ a 21.53 JTS semi dome pellet . Then this week I added #5 at 43yrd.s w/ a JTS  18 gr. RN . I brought the tune down on the Hatsan Factor RC for a bit higher shot count . My Katran Long B came back from Utah Airguns a couple days ago w/ a new regulator & hotter tune for G-hogs . I've got three more days to play till the new hip surgery on Monday .

 Quite the number of Ghogs Martin, Here they have been giving me the slip, but I know where they live, none under buildings as of yet, but when the young ones get kicked out they get into everything.

Just got a ghog this morning with my S510TC. It's taken a few weeks to get the opportunity for a clean shot without spooking it but today I got lucky. Had the power dial at the half point and a 18gr JSB did the deed @ 30 yards without passthrough. Went for an in between the eye and ear shot which switched it off instantly, nerves fired off for a bit though. After our dog passed, the shed out back seems to be a ghog magnet. Currently I have no device for photos, sorry.

  Well folks , home recuperating , new hip Monday . My wife informed me that hosp have invaded the bluebird house w/ the single egg ! After my arrival at the house I gimped out to the yard to check. Sure enough the egg was gone but no new nest material added. My lovely nurse retrieved my Kral NP03 from the Man Cave. I sat up on the kitchen table & was able to pull off a double when both sparrows converged at the house . Later in the morning a male started hitting the bluebird tray where we set meal-worms out. After some maneuvering I pulled off a shot on the male . Not too bad for an old "semi crippled" guy. Having the power dial is a great asset at times like this . We just noticed a pair of tree swallows checking out our middle house !

But this little derelict was caught red-handed stealing Convoy, the pigeons sunflower seeds.  I took aim with proper hold for the estimated 10 yard range, ease the trigger to its wall and with a crisp break problem solved, for now

LOL most likely, the first chipper I ever shot on the farm was with a 1377 and 10.5 gr CPD  at 7 yards his face was totally stuffed full of corn kernels, people thought I had to stomp its head to finish it, as it looked deformed LOL

 While mowing the lawn today I noticed a couple of my Arborvitae were all chewed up  Another rascally rabbit is about, I sat with the NemesisX while I smoked a rack of ribs this afternoon with no results. After getting a belly full of ribs and fixings I looked out the living room window, low and behold there the bugger was. I grab the NemiX off the chest freezer, sneak past the ct , get to where I can get a safe shot and it runs off LOL I see where it was headed, so go around the house to greet it at it new destination. A 7 yard shot to the noggin got him thinking right
