Dead Pest of the Day

 Went into work to fix a leaky tire bead on my truck, so after the fix, I hooked up with Nick and we went on a Chipmunk Safari,. I got the one on the left @ 30 yards, with my HPA Fusion 2 and 12.5 gr NSA.
 Nick got the other 2 with his Chaser and .22 Poly Mag Shorts, one at 10 yards and one at 30.

 LOL the middle one must of taken the pellet orally as we could only find the exit where the pellet stopped short of pass through.

 Well it doesn't get easier than this, the 3rd and last barn woodchuck decided to turn himself in. I got a report of a woodchuck that got itself trapped in an open topped 55 gal. plastic barrel

Maybe he thought it had water in it and wanted to go for a swim?     "Last woodchuck"?  That's what I said 400 dead woodchucks ago

 Went on another Chipmunk Safari this afternoon, I let Nick miss the first 2 with his Chaser, I think he needs a sight in
 Then this one presented itself and I lined up the shot and let'er RIP H& N Slug flew true 30 yards,  the Chipper dropped right there, then made a last brain cell idea to run 7 ft to the right where he was DRT when I located him.

Yesterday while on pest patrol I walked my back perimeter and low and behold but in my purposely un-mowed (milkweed and butterfly and wildlife habitat) tall grass was a skunk's tail. The Marauder .25 Super Light took aim at 30 yards and bowled him over. He vented considerable stinkyosity so as I retreated to a lesser malodorous vicinity and but did I come upon a second skunk and this one coming right at me . Working the side lever quickly to get another pellet in chamber I took aim at 20 yards and engaged, the adrenalin was hitting me and my arms shaking, more frightened than the time I was charged by a griz , at least then I had a ,45-70 Marlin! Hold steady like a true grit Southerner as my grandpaw would tell me, we ain't scared of Yan---, uh, skunks that is  . The .25 caliber 34 grain JSB Heavy at 900 fps zipped through his head and exited behind the shoulder best I could tell because I saw the weeds fall as it continued on it's path. This skunk also let loose a most disagreeable order so at that point I decided to advance homeward to safer and more open ground. Whereupon I noted a male HOSP atop my blue bird box and the Marauder vaporized him at 50 yards into an impressive cloud of feathers. Good thing the wind is out of the south today. The vultures will do the rest.

I guess this would be the one case you want wind blowing your sent towards your target...lol

 They say if shooting a skunk it is best to heart lung shot them as that disables the spray reflex. If it wanders off to die hope it is in a proper resting place

 I had a lunch guest today, took this chipper at 15 yards, with the Notos and H&N 21 gr. slugs, seems they did not agree with him and went right through front to back 
 Wood chuck was sighted this am in same location, time to break out a .25 or .30 sometime soon.

Been a bit since I've looked here, good shooting guys. My yard is still clear, not a single chipper to be seen.

 Nick and I did a quick sweep of the known pest areas at the end of the day, our last stop produced a double, Nick got the bunny with the Chaser and a 21 gr H7N slug at 5 yards from where we were setup, right after he took his shot I took the chipper off a stack of blocks at 30 also with the N& N slugs in the Notos.

Good stuff I’m so happy the Notos is getting used instead of just sitting in my work van:)

 Only one sighted today, he thought he had a cool shady rest under the deck ramp, Nick put him to rest from 15 yards with his Chaser Carbine and a Norma wadcutter.
