I've got 5 conversions under my belt and have had luck with the last 2 clocking without the need to face the drop block on the lathe.

All Right, good job, they're not Tapped exactly the same from the factory, so some will line up and some won't, but in any case you are performing a great service for those who want the conversion.

I was thinking the same thing of burst pressure plus they do not look like they are threaded long enough to go into a bottle.

Just a couple of thoughts:

The M16X1mm threaded air block on the gun is holding the air tank etc and is not particularly heavy duty so I would not hang anything more than the block/regulator/bottle.

Would a custom bottle/barrel shroud band work to help support the weight?

You will notice that the barrel is very thin and that the shroud is not attached with threads but rather, it simply friction fits onto a spacer and is slipped into a plastic support with just one grub screw holding the assembly to the breech.

This gun has very little holding it together and we are asking a lot of it with adding a big air tank as well as an external regulator.

My fear is that the POI will move a lot as the gun temperature and fill pressure changes.

My thoughts are that if a long support that spans the length of the flat of the air bottle is used to hold the shroud and bottle completely still, the POI will change little and then the two components will act as one and create an exponentially stiffer assembly.

you have your choice of bottle sizes and regulator pressures, I used a 500cc bottle and a 1800psi regulator from Amazon, I think a 350cc would be a perfect fit and still give plenty of shots, regulator psi you can go from 1800 to 2200 psi without problems with valve lock,

Those are good for M18x1.5 selections.

Paintball sourced cylinders are typically  5/8''-18UNF Threads, not compatible with M18 x 1.5.

Hajimoto is a GTA sponsor and has excellent gear, like Ninja HPA regulators with shims for making specific pressure adjustments. Adjustable Ninja reg is awesome for fine tuning with great consistancy.
