Bizarre Gamo Parts Policy

Gamo will only sell "internal" AIRGUN parts to one holding a Federal Firearms License (FFL)

Has anyone come up against this before??

They are well known as a difficult company to deal with regarding parts and repairs. For this and many other reasons, as far as I'm concerned they can go pound sand.

That's been a well known fact for several years.  I'm with Brendon - I don't own a Gamo and don't intend to.

The Gamo parts policy is in line with the Gamo product line, the guns typically lasting a couple of years of heavy use and then breaking down. Maximizing the number of new guns sold is the only thing Gamo is interested in, not making existing guns last. Of course, there's better money in the former.

There is also the liability issues to.
Sadly we live in a sue crazy society so many companies at are expense cover their arse. But I do agree I wouldn't buy another Gamo either. I have a Urban that could use a trigger pack but they won't sell me one.
They don't support me. I don't support them!

 Gamo also has claim to the most pellets sold, it takes 2x as many to hit a target

All the above are interesting observations. I can comprehend them all.
As a Gamo fan I have not experienced any trouble with parts here but the parts I have needed have come from Custom Air seals in Australia or I have fabricated myself .

It's the way they roll, FFL required to buy a piston seal. They're now $300 for the 10 shot rifles. Just better not need a part, you'll have to mail in the rifle, be down a rifle for ?

Litigation fear is real, but it doesn't really explain the situation here. It's not "You can't get replacement parts for airguns in the U.S." It's "You can't get Gamo parts". Other companies are happy to deliver every nut, bolt and washer of their guns to the person needing replacement parts.

If owners are not allowed to purchase internal parts without an FFL,
Then how is it that people can purchase ENTIRE GUNS without an FFL

THAT makes NO sense whatsoever.............

Seems to me that you don't need an FFL in order to  purchase all sorts of PB parts, for weapons that you cannot purchase without going thru an FFL holder

The trigger it's self is great it's the hammer spring adjuster is tighter than dicks hat band to turn either way twisted the Allen wrench. I may be able to fix it but I want a replacement before I attack it.

My inquiry to Daisy netted the following reply:

That's GAMO Policy, because for internal parts  you have to have a press and if you do it incorrectly it could do bodily harm.

I replied that I have a 20 ton floor mounted hydraulic press and a 1 ton bench mounted arbor press.
The local FFL holder has neither...........

I was going to say that I would use my equipment as qualifications on an FFL application, but I like the CS people at Daisy and I didn't want to get snotty.....

Gamo has had that policy as long as I've been shootin' springers (a few decades) and I've read that if a Gamo owner sends in a gun for service that had "non-Gamo internal parts" the aftermarket parts would be replaced with factory Gamo parts before returning.

I had never messed with Gamo before........... sounds like dumb luck.

At least their policy is better than Umarex..."We don't carry parts for that..."
