Javi - Not Responding after Payment

Hello All.  As a new member here, I wish that my first post with the community would be under better circumstances.  While entertaining the idea of dabbling with PCP air pistols and looking for a new project, I came across the following listing for an Artemis PP750 by Javi in the Members Classifieds: https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=207521.0

I contacted Javi via email and he was responsive to inquiries regarding the condition of the items, negotiated price, shipping, and payment methods.  We agreed to go ahead with the transaction and funds were sent.  It has been seven days since our last communications and after multiple attempts, I have not received a response requesting tracking information or when he intends to ship the items.

I suspect that something may be amiss with this transaction; shipping from a neighboring zip code would typically not take too long.  After digging further, I found a similar classified in AGN, as well as negative seller feedback with that user listed in their "Known SCAMMER, Pending, or Bad Transaction List".

I will continue to wait a few more days to give him the benefit of the doubt.  If anything changes and the items show up, I will apologize and remove/modify this post.  Otherwise, relevant financial institutions and agencies may need to be contacted.

I believe another member here purchased this airgun and sent Javi funds as well as a shipping label. He then failed to communicate with them which was reported to us. I then attempted to communicate with Javi which he has ignored. The airgun package DID arrive at the other members residence.  I would suggest you try to recall your funds. I have since removed his classified ads and will not allow his further use of our classifieds. Sorry for the issues, this is very unusual for GTA Forums!!!

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully you get it sorted out. I have always had very good luck buying and selling anything from GTA members. There are some amazing people around here and agn.

Thank you ezman604 for the additional information and attempted communications and bear air for the words of encouragement.  When did that other transaction take place? Recently?

After another non-response, I have notified relevant financial institutions regarding my transaction with Javi and my accounts have been noted for if and when I wish to proceed with recalling funds.  I prefer that this was a smoother, straight-forward sale, and I will be patient for a little longer for Javi to respond, before moving forward.

This took place a few days ago. I didn't realize it was the same ad until you reported it. Definitely not a way to conduct proper transactions!!!

I think he must have sold it three times then. Mitch, I didn't know you bought it too. I thought Cameron (Kerndtc) bought and paid for it and sent mailing label. I believe he actually received the airgun package.

Dave, I paid for the gun on April 28th. I wrote you on May 8th and asked for advice on how to handle it. I also told you that Javi had another ad on the Board. I never received any more word from you. I found this complaint today when I was preparing to post my own.
I have had several great transactions through the classifieds here. It’s a shame that not only I was scammed by this guy but others members as well.
Do we have a KNOWN SCAMMER LIST ?

Sorry it just didn't click that this was the same seller scamming others. I DID receive an email from someone saying they felt they might have been scammed in the classifieds and I asked the name of the seller. But I never received a response to my inquiry. I have now banned Javi from GTA Forums. I hope everyone can get their funds returned. And if anyone is a member and frequents AGN (I don't go there personally) you might warn them since I understand he has items listed over there too.

Hello All,

I don't know if I was the original purchaser or the first person to send Javi payment, he sent pictures of the gun with all the accessories said he was going to send them all to me.

I paid for it on the 19th I believe, sent him a prepaid label on the 20th and did not receive any further communication from him after trying to reach out on multiple platforms. Text message, GTA message, email. Not until I threatened to report him on GTA did I get a response. I believe this was the only reason why I wound up getting the gun is because he didn't want me to raise a fuss.

I received the gun after waiting 6 or 7 days for him to ship it, it came a little beat up but with everything he stated it would come with.

This was a serious lesson for me to pay the additional percentage on PayPal to ensure I have insurance.

I have sold a few airguns on GTA and I ask for Paypal F&F

From now on I will give the buyer the option to use F&F or not.

I was looking at this guy's history... it appears he joined and went to greeting new comers apparently to build his post count. Right after that he began to post in the classifieds. 4 or 5 guns/items. That was a red flag for me.

I looks to me like he planned to scam from git street.

Always ask for a reference don’t be scammed please you work too hard for your $.
