Notos or jet

I'm sure I'm opening a can of worms,  but, if I were to choose between them,  what are the pros and cons?

LOL!  Yep, what Mike said!  The Notos really isn't a pistol because the moderator can't be removed, sl you are talking 20½ inches from the back of the breach to the end of the barrel/moderator!

The Jet is 13½ inches from the back of the breach aand the end of the barrel, so it's much more compact.

To convert the Notos from a Carbine to a Pistol it takes removing 4 screws and you have to purchase the pistol grips separately!  The Butt Stock of the Jet is included and just snaps right on and off with no tools required.

Now, the Jet 1 only has a 40cc air cylinder, the Jet 2 doubles that, but is not as compact.  So, shot count is really limited with the Jet.

So, if you are looking for ssomething you will use mostly as a Carbine, get the Notos, no extras required to shoot in your backyard!  If you are looking for a pistol, or backpack gun, go for the Jet.  You will need a moderator to make the Jet backyard friendly, which requires the purchase of additional hardware, so cost wise, the Jet could end up costing more than the Notos depending upon your choice of moderator.

I have both, actually have 2 Jets, a Jet 1 in .22 and a Jet 2 in .25, and I have the Notos, so I can try and answer any specific questions you may have about either.

I’ll add to Paul’s input- the device I use on my Jet is a Buckrail .30 it was $40 and it’s really light weight and reduces the report quite a bit

Another consideration is caliber choice, the Jets come in .177, .22 or .25, the Notos only comes in .22, so if you are wanting anything other than .22, then there's really only one choice!     Well, two actually, the Jet 1 or Jet 2!

Great regulated plinker up to 50 yards.

All the Jet reviews omit a shot string and for a very good reason, because there is nothing to show.
The Jet is a 20-25 yard plinker.
It has a 8" barrel so it will be OK as a pistol at short range.

But as a carbine the Notos will be much better.

Mine is shooting the CPUD's at an average of 763FPS, the hammer spring is backed off as far as it will go and still allow the stock to be attached.  I have no idea what the regulator is set to, or even where it's supposed to be set!  But, it's working well for me...

I replaced the hammer spring with a weaker one.
The original hammer spring was giving me from 750FPS to 775 FPS with CPHP.

With the weaker spring I can adjust velocity from 640FPS to 745FPS depending on the preload.

I have a unregulated pistol and have to work with a lower fill pressure and lower shot count to get consistent velocity.I would not buy unregulated again

 I'm going to have to do a crony shot string with my Jet1 sometime soon, it seems to be 2 mags of pistol range accurate shots an a fill from about 2800 psi down, with.25 cal. 31 gr. Beeman pellets.  Still think I would be happy with one mag with a few more fpe

Nothing against the Jet, haven't owned one, but the Notos will put a smile on your face everytime you pick it up!

I have neither, but I do have a recently tuned Artemis PP800R (in .177) (think of it as a regulated Diana Bandit) that is dressed in a Buck Rail pistol grip and a folding shoulder stock. I got mine from AirgunArcheryFun in Canada.

I tuned the regulator down to 65-ish bars, clipped and collapsed a few coils of the hammer spring, and glued the hammer spring guide to the rear cap (this makes the hammer free flying). Also polished the trigger components and the matching surface on the hammer. The trigger grub screws are replaced with ball-head types.The trigger pull is now about 12 to 14 oz., shooting at 6 FPE (about 500 fps with JSB 10.34gr), and getting about 40 shots from 200 bars to 65 bars. The ES of muzzle velocity is very small. The accuracy is great, especially at this price point. A local enthusiast was able to shoot the .25 version of his at 12 FPE.

The Brocock Ranger XR is *very* jealous of the little brother!

If I am not mistaken, the Notos, the PP750, the PP800, the Diana Bandit are all variants of the same air pistol. So there you have one more data point related to the Notos!

I would buy the Notos. From what I've  seen on the net...it looks to be  a sweet shooter.

 Like to see it go up against the Leishy with 50 yrd groups....

I don't have either and have no plans on getting either. Another member was at our house a couple wees ago and had his NOTOS with him. I handled it but did not shoot it. It had a real quality feel to it. I've not touched or seen a Jet in person.
But from what I hear from other members, and a few I trust very much, if I were going to get one it would be the NOTOS.. no questions asked.

We owned a Mercedes and currently own a Tacoma, quite honestly, I'd take the Toyota over the Mercedes any day of the week!  Had a lot of issues with the Mercedes!
