How does one determine if the barrel is actually a LW?

The photo of the Wal-Mart rifle is not regulated. It also shows a beech stock, not walnut.
You may actually receive the regulated walnut stock, but that's not what the photo shows.

I’m not in the market for one, but looked at it again out of curiosity. The title says Regulated. Idk about the picture.

However, it also says not returnable/all sales final. Odd.

I thought I'd post an update after receiving my Benjamin Marauder F&T .177.  Ransony shipped it the day I ordered it and it arrived in short order (Georgia to Mississippi).

When I eagerly opened it I saw that there was no finish whatsoever on the Turkish walnut stock - no oil, no lacquer. no varnish!  I remembered reading an article many years ago by a man who built muzzle loading rifles and he observed that many of his rifles' cheek pieces, wrists and forearms didn't react to stain and finish the same as the rest of the stock.  He concluded that as he crafted the stock he often shouldered it, as if looking down the barrel, and that those particular areas had absorbed oil from his skin because of his handling.  With this in mind.  I removed the action & barrel from the stock and proceeded to give it three coats of Tru-Oil, rubbing it down between applications with bronze wool .  Not my finest accomplishment as it is now Tru-Oil glossy, but I know the stock is sealed.  Maybe this winter when its too cold to shoot I will strip it and put a proper finish on it.  Besides, I was eager to shoot it!

I waited through several cold days as maybe I'm a wuss but 40 degrees with 10-15 mph winds isn't my idea of shooting weather.  I installed a Leapers/UTG 6-24x50 scope and finally had my chance.  I used 7.9gr CPHP pellets to sight in this scope at 45 feet then shot a 10 shot group.  Nine shots went into a knot that measures .293" wide x .137 high.  One of the ten shots fell about 1/2" outside of the group. I didn't call a flyer when shooting it so maybe a bad pellet?  Don't tell me that a Crosman barrel won't shoot!  I'd post pictures but don't have the required 20 posts yet.

Thus endeth my journey.  I'm happy that everything worked out...........

 Sounds like you got a healthy gun, aside from the lack of wood finish, that you addressed asap
