I got this filter a while back but I haven't used it lately because if I remember correctly I wasn't sure if I was hooking it up right. It seemed like it made it take forever to fill up my gun. Is it because that thing has to fill up with air before it goes into your gun?

What kind of a pump are you using with it? If a hand pump it is WAY to big a filter.

It's the Bin Tac compressor that runs off of electric or a battery

It takes a bit with my AV compressor.

That filter is too big for that sized compressor, for exactly the reason you mention, it takes too much time to pressurize. I have that size filter on my Yong Heng. For my Nomad, I have one that's about 1" x 8". Also, you want to ditch the filling that's shown, and have a little filter in each end, with desiccant in the rest.

 One thing I have noticed with these filters is that one needs to tighten all the fittings, and sometimes use some teflon tape to get a good seal. It is best to pressure test with soapy water, and dead head, to find the leaky places, sometimes the fosters do not match up with other brands also.
