Anybody know what reg settings are commonly used on the .177 avengers?

I hand pump and more than 3k is more demanding than enjoyable. If the reg is a high setting, that's a deal breaker. If the reg at 1500ish does well as a tune, will be on my radar.

I wish the original avenger .177 came in wood stock. I like the lower price and the way the air tube and barrel look ending in line with each other.

I set my avenger at the minimum setting which as said above is like 1200psi and I'm pretty sure it's around 850fps but for inside of 30 yards or so it's my go to pesting gun and as said gets a bunch of shots per fill... as said with a regulator you can fill it to whatever and it'll shoot the same as long as the tank is above regulator...

 Was planning an FX in the future, not so sure anymore I can get the whole option package for this and maybe a spare gun for the price of FX LOL

What I understand it is get a base gun, mix and match with addons like the FX Dreamline series. This development may make parts readily available for theses guns I would hope.

The Avenge-X is right up my alley. I had been planning on getting an FX modular setup for retirement (18 months away).

Well done Air Venturi.

I just came out of retirement and might be able to finally afford such a rifle.   

I like the idea of the Avenge-X but a FX Maverick is very interesting too.  Maybe the reviews and tests on the Avenge-X will prove it a cheaper option.

Interesting article from IWA a few weeks ago with the manufacturer of these guns, Nova Vista.  The guns on display here have traditional bottles and they also display an Arrow shooter...

I too.. was not really understanding the ''real'' difference between the original Avenger and the new X model. I rewatched the YouTube with Steve (AEAC Channel) and Tyler for (Air Venturi). I jotted down some notes.. I have to say.. I was kind of blown away...

Using the base grey stock models in direct comparison of the old and new models.. here are most of the features you get for: just $150.. $150! ..I mean..Dang

1) Adjustable rubber butt stock pad
2) Adjustable Cheek riser
3) Better solid stock (huge compliant of the old model)
4) More adjustment in the hammer spring ..extra turns
5) All metal action
6) Metal picatinny bi-rail
7) New all stainless steel regulator (much needed)
Multi-click stop.. air transfer port adjuster
9) New style air guages
10) Optional big air bottle
11) All metal trigger assembly.. easier to adjust
12) Options to change calibers
13) Options to change stocks
14) Larger standard air tube ( old 180.. new 210cc)
15) It appears to have the same barrel.. if it ain't broke.. don't fix it
16) It is worth noting.. if I understand it correctly.. they plan possible varied barrel lengths.. Maybe shorter compact.
17) New barrel stabilizing insert.. and adapter for quiet LDC install.. (no need to buy Donny adaptor ) There's a $45 plus there alone..
18) Better barrel band system.. Also can be removed to float barrel and shroud..
19) Cocking lever can be switched to opposite side for left hand operation..

It appears to me.. at least.. there is the ability to set up a standard looking larger air bottle.. at least on the tactical model.. which would be my personal choice. Especially over that homely bottle they have now..

I was on the fence about buying another mid-tier air rifle.. however.. there is no doubt.. I will be preordering a .22 tactical Avenge-x..

I have a wood stock Avenger 25cal..using a few upgrades.. I also have a Dreamline Lite in 22cal with some upgrades..

Honestly at 50 yards.. They are about dead even for shot groups.. Not for refinement.. Of course..
