If you like shooting paper like I do.  When the time comes for a tune you may want to detune your fps.  Lighter pellets are way cheaper.

In the meantime, thanks everyone for eliminating within me doubt about the rifle. Now that I know it's all me... it's been helpful... consistency of hold. I switched to JSB Exacts that I had around and below are the early results. Might not be impressive to you veterans.. but encouraging:

That's nothing at all to sneeze at- I would be very happy with those groups myself.

My 3-12x44 UTG swat scope just dead after 1500 round, pick a better one! The POI now is shifting here and there, cannot zero at all.
Anyone know beefy but priced right one, please also let me know!

Send it back. It has a Lifetime Warranty if it's a UTG.  I love mine and they've got a LOT more than 1,500 thru them.  I use the 3-12 UTG SWAT Compact, (first edition), and had the full size 3-12 on a M48 that's still rockin'.   They are hard to beat on a M48/52.  I do recommend adding the droop compensation mount that Leapers/UTG offers for the RWS line of air rifles.  Both of mine required them.  If you don't, and you are adjusting your scope elevation a lot (to compensate for the barrel droop),  then you are setting yourself up for possible scope problems in the future with these magnums. Finally, I use the heavy pellets from JSB or Crosman.

I think the wheel is a big burden for side focus when mounting on a mag springer, like 48. Now the side focus knob is loose.

I don't use that Larger,sidewheel, if that's what you refer to...just stock knob.
  The side focus knob has a tiny screw on it that you can tighten with a screwdriver (eyeglasses screwdriver).  Take the knob off and make sure it is correctly aligned where it needs to be.  You'll see it.

Those are good groups, you have some pieces of the puzzle figured out now!

Now, the hard part, always putting the puzzle back together in the same order. Much like a golf swing, you need the same drill every time you approach the ball (gun), Stance, Grip, Eyes on Ball, Chin Up, Swing through, etc etc.

For the gun, Stance, Grip (artillery hold), Eyes on Target, Shoot Through the Target (leave gun on aim till target is hit) etc etc.

Your swinging correctly now!
