Daisy Model 25 on sale….

I just couldn't resist and purchased one today. It was my first air gun and I plan to shoot it a lot. Going to have some plinking fun.

I had a used vintage one it was fun but after a while the cocking arm buckled rendering the gun useless.

I have a Crosman 760 and M-4 at the ready all the time. I have a plinking range in my backyard.

Just to be clear.. I chase certain critters off for their own protection from our dogs. If Boss and Rambo get ahold of them they would not have a good day.

I opened up the peep on mine….with a little hold-over I can still hit a can @ 30 yards….lol…I can just barely here the ding with my good ear…

I wound up ordering a second one after receiving my first one.  They both shoot great.  I like the pump action more than the lever action of the red ryder.  Both seem to shoot the cheap crosman bb’s, I had laying around, straight without curving off to the left or right.  The rocket can seems to work well after I adjusted them so the trigger would latch properly.  Looked like some good backyard fun for the holidays, etc. so I bought a second rifle and can launcher.  Not as much fun if you have to wait your turn to shoot.  Amazon had the rifle for $48 and the can launcher for $41 so getting 2 rifles and 2 can launches for around $100 after shipping seemed like a good deal.

Got mine today.  Never shot one before but been watching them for a good price for a while.  Wanted one cause it looks like on of the cork guns you shoot the solo cups with at the carnival when I was a kid.  Amazed at how accurate it is at 20' in the garage.

Congrats…..i opened up the peep on my …and added a Adult Red Ryder stock….proper LOP now…happy shooting

Im old  so I did 1/8…..u might want to start smaller and work your way up…makes for a great sight pic…..good luck

PS, u might also press the peep against some hard surface..to prevent burrs…and get a clean hole….

I'm no spring chicken,  the rear v sight is just a shadoed blur to me, so I was glad to find the peep after reading your post.  This will help a lot.  I have a williams peep on my 397 which seems a little large so i will start somewhere between that dia. and the hole that is in it now.

Sweet……while we are at it…I put a red dot on one of my adult red ryders and its almost as accurate as the 25…@30 feet..good luck

I received mine yesterday afternoon. I Oiled pivot points as recommended, loosened rear sight to make it moveable, and greased knurled wide screw gaps lightly on end of bb clip to reduce wear. I shot 50 bbs at paper target with ok results inside my shop (a 44 ft. cargo container).

Today after butchering 8 quail and putting them in salt brine for two days in preparation for a bbq, I grabbed my new Daisy 25 as if I were a kid at the age of 8 or 9.

After filling the clip with about 50 bbs, I went outside and threw an empty aluminium can and proceeded to walk that can until my arm was tired from pumping this well made Chinese Daisy 25 that I beleive is owned by the company Umarex. I found out when refilling the bbs, I still had 10 unshot bbs left. I then refilled and threw out a kirkland 12 oz empty drinking water  bottle with the lid securely on. "Wow", what a blast shooting. I found myself hitting the bottle nearly everytime as it was pushed further and further away. What was so exciting is that when the bbs hit, they made a massive whack even though it was rare for bbs to go into the plastic bottle. To me this was more fun than the aluminum can which caused more reverse ricochets without the loud whack, and yes, I did not want to put my eye out, hence I wore safety glasses.
 
After that range time, I proceeded to shoot another 5 reloads totaling 250 bbs. Before cocking the first time, I lowered the barrel and allowed bb to fall into my hand otherwise, it would fall on the ground and be lost. Yes, I am on a retired budget.

Also, this is not a speed demon, likely only around 275 fps, however I enjoy the rapid fire of using the pump differently than the Red Ryders.  I kept my hand on the pump handle at all times during both pumping and releasing the trigger. I am 73 yrs. old and can't see the rear sight, hence I painted the front sight white and then put Testors Enamel Paint, Orange Fluorescent over the white which allows me to see the front sight and hit my target easily.

I have over 40 pellet and bb rifles and pistols, but I have to say this Daisy 25 is well worth the $52.36 for the rifle, 2400 Daisy bbs, California tax, and shipping from Pyramid Air for plinking an empty water bottle and watching it hop around.

To sum up, I highly recommend this little gem. It is a lot of fun. It does not have the accuracy or distance of my .25 cal Walther Maximathor pcp air rifle that has dropped over 70 ground squirrels this year on my property primarily with headshots from 25 to 75 yards. The reason for headshots is it drops the squirrels immediately and allows me to feed them to ravens that have been on my property longer than I have. What it does allow is many low cost bb shots in a short amount of time along with the enjoyable audible feedback as I walk my target further away with each shot. Again, do I recommend this Daisy 25, yes absolutely. I hope you are able to enjoy it as much as I have in only two days.

A few years ago when I bought my Beretta M92 A1 semi/full auto BB pistol, i got a speed loader since a 35 round mag dump is almost instantaneous. 
Found the speed loader to be very useful with my new mod 25.

Well, I should be thinnin' the herd rather than adding to it but, y'all talked me in to it.  I just ordered a Daisy pump BB gun.  I had one some 68 -70 years ago, I reckon I'll still know how to use it?
