Hatsan Model 25 Supertact not cocking
«
on:
June 16, 2022, 03:14:21 PM »
Hi I've recently purchased the Hatsan Model 25 Supertact, and after 50 shots or so it stop cocking. There is still tension in the spring and opening up the gun it seem that part 131 is not locking with 484 (see image) is this a common problem and a fix for it?
I've asked Hatsan USA for the parts but they don't ship to Canada, are their any alternative part supplier that could ship here.
Any help would be appreciated,
Al

Part #131 to me looks like it is part of the safety. Can you remove the safety all together?

No I think it the top sear.
If you look at my pic, you’ll see the piston is scratched up so it looks like it not fully engaged.

Well scratched up and hatsan is normal..lol
Can you see #148 and insure its not broken ?
I think its what hold the pressur on the shear part that when the shoe part slides under it it lifts and then "clicks" it in place / a positive inguagment. When you pull the trigger it lifys that shear to fire the piston.
To me 2000 milrs away guessing there no spring pressure to hold that shear down to grap the piston shoe and it just dont inguage / grab it.
Or the claw notch of the shear part is just worn out and rounded it cant.. ( thats doubtful, bit i guess nothing a file could not try to fix)
Anyway thats my opinion unless the take it all apart for better pictures of a worn out part.
Like in that link i gave that springs broken or stretched that shear will not positive ingage the piston to latch it.
May as well take it apart clean it good debur if needed relube it all .. that a lot of times does wonders in itself.. ( minding there's nothing broken.)

Thanks, I think you are right it something to do with that sear and spring. Their is tension there when I push it it come back but will have to disassemble it and see. Will get myself a clamp and disassemble it on the weekend and uploaded some pictures.

Then your there to what yogi said maybe in the safety/ aintibeartrap ? Maybe just old grease, rust from no grease or crud ?
Just keep yrack of how it comes apart so you put it back in order correctly.. ive had to speak a few choice words with the hatsan trigger..lol. Can be a p.i.t.a.
Good luck.

To me everything looks ok the spring is working it goes into cocking position and out of it when I press the trigger so I’m a bit confused.

Check the cocking lever,
probably bended or defective

I think I figured out the problem, the sear is barely crossing the tube line to hold the piston. Like I said it’s a new gun and stopped working after 50 shots or so. I’m guessing as the piston part started to wear down the sear could no longer hold it. I remember towards the end the trigger was very sensitive, it must have been when the sear could barely hold the piston.
Supper disappointed with this gun
I would think having been out for many years the kinks would all be ironed out.

I DON'T own a Hatsan Supertact or Supercharger, but I do own dozens of other Hatsan springer and PCP rifles.
That is a version of the Quattro trigger. I have some experience with the springer rifle version and my avatar is that version in motion.
Some comments... It looks like all the steel Quattro trigger parts/pins are scaled a little differently, but they have the same function and similar motions. What I don't like seeing is that the trigger housing appears to be made of plastic.
Probably NOT your problem but IMO there should be NO PLASTIC anywhere in a "springer" trigger mechanism. If that trigger housing has started to warp under the stress of holding back the mainspring then sear-piston engagement could become too small and/or intermittant.
I think PIPERMAN(Kostas) has a good suggestion. If the cocking link starts to bend or the cocking shoe gets damaged the piston may not be going back far enough to ALWAYS get latched.
Another issue is OVER-ADJUSTING the Quattro trigger screws. On the rifles there is a trigger-weight screw at the rear. If this screw is turned too far to lighten the trigger pull then that lower sear lever may have too little return force to "set-up" the rest of the trigger mechanism. Over-adjusting the other screws can sometimes cause latching problems as well.
Don't get discouraged by the broken links to images in this OLD post. The OP reloads the images later in the thread. I think one or more of his suggestion may fix your problem.

I'm trying to remember what the problem was when I had mine. If it has a screw to adjust the tigger pull try turning it in a couple of turns to give it more to get a grip on. I remember mine quit cocking when i removed a screw that looked like it served no purpose. Put the screw back and it worked fine.

I also think it might be the trigger screw, as mentioned . I had the same rifle & same problem. Back the REAR trigger screw out a half turn & try it.

Yep I did try that but it still could not cock it.
I decided to return it in the end.

Hmmmm... What about the cocking linkage bent so its not pulling the piston back far enough to engage ?
My 25 grones and scrapes like it's dry and lubed with sandpaper..lol
Id think if it cocked the first 50 it should go another 5000.
Man its hard to say wothout being there direct hands on with it to really see.

Dont know whats in this that could help ( mature content and im not mature....lol)
All i can use hink up is trigger adjustment not allowing it to fully cock or maybe bent linkage.
I just dont see if he steel parts wearing out in 500 shots or the shoe or somthing is factory defective.
If you look at mt hatsan 95 post here at the cocking shoe i lol'ed that one side looked like a rat chewed on it..
Well here..

I forgot this i noticed ..
The circled part in my picture that notch looks clean and square your pictures of it not so?
Maybe that is what s preventing the piston from going fully back enough to engage the trigger shear latch?
Hang on picture error....
