Diana 34 value

curious, i purchased my Diana 34 in 22 cal new 15yrs ago, don't shoot it much, what are guns like this selling for these days no dings nice stock overall excellent condition.

It's gotta be worth a pretty penny since that gun is a classic and no longer made. I'm sure your pm mailbox will be full of offers. Definitely a great all around gun.

The gun is worth precisely what you will sell it for and what a buyer will pay.  That number will probably be somewhere between $150 and $300.  Although they are no longer made there are a LOT of them out there.  There have been different models of the gun through the years, some of more value than others.  Unless you sell locally shipping will be a concern.  I'd ballpark that at $50.

My 34 was purchased about the time I joined the GTA forum; i.e., some 12-13 years ago.  She has been tuned with an ARH kit and sits in a Premium stock and has a muzzle break.  That said, she is worth no more than what I can get for her.....and, I'm ok with that.

15 years ago? You payed less than $200 for it new. T05? I wouldn't offer more than $150, maximum. You get an offer more than that, jump on it. Springers don't sell in classifieds, just ask Ezman604, he's been try to sell his springers in the classifieds for months. Nobody wants these dinosaurs.

Most I've seen are in the $180-$200 range, plus shipping. It depends a lot on condition. The T05 trigger is not as desirable to some. I doubt mind that.

Got interested and took a look. From what I saw, Ezman has been selling his Crosman and Ruger springers for months. I have no doubt they won't sell, but they sure ain't no German (or British) springers, either.

 Recently I started shooting my old springers again  I also have a 34 36 and a 45,  sure feels good no sir tank just shoot,  I even have a old gamo extreme wood in 22 didnt shoot it much takes a bear to cock it. David

Chet. Ask yourself this. How often do you see a Diana 34 in .22 of this vintage in the classifieds? There is a reason why. They that good!!! Anyone that haggles about the t05 trigger is full of bs. I have the same gun and that trigger is about as good and predictable as any of my WH reckord triggers. I wouldnt start at anything under $250.  Tell any low ballers to go kick rocks.

ALWAYS  ALWAYS undervalue other folks "stuff"

They are experts-and I mean that literally-so they will know of one that sold for a LOW PRICE-and they will price your item like that.

They are not lying-but being too "in the know" they ALWAYS buy low-and usually brag about it

Best way to check what it will sell for is to advert it-perhaps at a slightly high price

If you go too high-you will get ZERO bites-  a bit low-lots of bites

To price it I would check the prices of current CHINESE or Spanish or Turkish made rifles with similar specs-velocity nice wood stock decent adj trigger

It being a NAME BRAND GERMAN gun means it is worth about what a new Turkish or Spanish gun is worth-assuming it presents as "nearly new"

Just my take on it-but maybe $150-$200 is about right-play up the GERMAN manufacturing of course

Shipping-makes it much tougher to sell-$50 shipping someone mentioned  seems about right-so $150 means only $100 in your pocket-$200 only $150

Kinda low-barely worth the effort-nice rifle-you could not buy a similar rifle for that money

Heck just price it high-$250-see if you get any bites-offers-maybe you will find a local-no shipping?

Selling nice stuff you are atached too-not worthy- after shipping and various fees-you don't end up with much for a nice rifle

PS A few months ago I bought a NEW IN BOX  wood stock Diana 350 magnum- .177- $290 delivered-NUMRICH- more of less a up-powered Diana 34-fun rifle-I love it-certainly "worth more to me" than a 34-but I like power-the T05 trigger-will drop value-folks claim otherwise "just as good as a T06" but Diana did not think so-so...

Not talking about the GTA classifieds, but the wider world where I've been buying and selling springers.

50 - 60 % of retail value seems like the sweet spot where desireable springers in good condition actually change hands. Many people ask for much more, but seldom get it.

Why on earth would anyone pay a retail-like price for a second-hand gun, with no return option or warranty, and with potential misuse / mis-storage issues?

Old / discontinued stuff is of course harder to value, but most old stuff in this world isn't worth much. Only a select few classics retain a high monetary worth. The vast majority of people value new / recent models the highest.

It's clear, too, that many prospective buyers patiently wait for the price to drop, like vultures perching close to a not-yet-dead animal. Once the price drops to the sweet spot, a buyer is suddenly found.

Personally, I find it funny to haggle, passively or actively, over 50 bucks etc., when the item in question is an heirloom-worthy (or so we'd like to think) gun that will potentially see decades of use and admiration.

are the older ones worth more or less?
I have a German made RWS not sure if I will sell it but curious as to what they are fetching these days

Still say that the price is about 180-220, but yea you'll see people list all sorts of crazy prices on eBay and it'll usually sit there for a very long time. Theres two D34's for sale on Airgun Nation right now in the 300 range and they've just sat, so I guess it depends how motivated you are to actually sell, and finding someone who's very motivated to acquire specifically a D34 classic.

If you're curious to find out. List your gun at 400 bucks, see if it sells, if/when it doesn't. just lower the price until it does.

I have a T06 .177 P34 that I put wood stock on.  Tried selling it a couple of years ago for $150 with a scope and loc down mount in very good condition.  No one was interested so I gave up.

I would advise to list it on EBay. For several reasons:
1.- It is a well known air rifle in the US under the RWS brand, so the widespread marketing of a general merchandise selling outlet makes more sense.
2.- People who buy there are more driven by emotions than by knowledge
3.- It is an auction, I would start the auction at $175 and see how it goes.

At present, the 34's that are in the market above 300 get little to no bids, and those that started at $150 have bids above $200.

In a Pawn shop you might get offered $75 to $100 depending on condition because they expect to sell it at between $150 to $250 The only advantage is that it is quick and done.

Of course, if this is not worthwhile for you, then keep the gun.

One more item that may be of interest to the general readership here:

Just to chime in on one additional thing. The issue with eBay is that while it gets seen by a much wider audience, eBay can take some quite hefty fees. Remember that Ebay calculates based upon the total selling price including tax. So maybe your final sell price is 250 dollars, but then add 50 dollars for shipping, add tax, and eBay calculates its fees based upon that final total sum even though the amount you're getting is just that original 250. So for that reason even though eBay guns often sell at higher prices than the forums, I think overall the forum sales are more profitable due to not having to pay those fees or at most the buy protection via PayPal type fees.
