Ok let's try this again lol. My first one did end up being sold to my uncle after my cousin borrowed it for a week or 2. My cousin bought the bullpup version. They are loving them.

This time it's gonna be setup for low power pesting. Essentially gonna replace say a standard powered RWS 34 or HW95/R9 in .22 for power, basically around 15fpe. I've used that power level very successfully in our barns and around them for close range work. I don't need it a whole lot so having a cheap gun do the work makes me happy.

I have an Athlon Helos BTR Gen2 2-12x42 that will sit on top of it for this need. It's an excellent low powered, compact rifle scope with great reticle for this need.

Now the tricky part is I want this gun to be able to use on my tripod with a ARCA rail. First thoughts are to try it far out front and see how it works. It won't be balanced but think it can work. Otherwise maybe a reverse Picatinny extension rail and put something in between it and the stock to have some solidity. Still thinking there.

Hopefully tonight I can get the scope setup and what not. Depends how tired I am. I'm looking forward to keeping this one and seeing what it can do!

Dillon, congratulations on your second Avenger! I think this might work..maybe not! I recently added a Gray OPS Swiss Arca Rail to my RAW Chassis, makes it heavier but more versatile for tripods/bipods etc....

Thanks Randall! I do happen to have those adapters for my guns. I have 2, one for my Uragan, and one spare. I did throw it on the Avenger and seems like I can make it work. Since the gun is pretty light it will stay put on the tripod.

Also forgot to mention this was one of the refurb deals. $195 delivered for this one. And looks brand new! Did purchase a 3D printed barrel holder/baffle and Black Art Designs barrel band system for it.

Can't beat a gun like that for under two bills! At that power level you should get a ton of shots Dillon.

So I dropped reg pressure all the way to 1000psi and was getting 740fps with 16gr pellets and hammer spring backed out all the way. Figured ok I'm gonna raise reg pressure until it creates some valve lock and gets me to my 650fps goal. Well that didn't work at all!!! Got all the way up to 3000psi on reg with hammer spring backed out all the way and lowest i got was 800fps. Peaked I think around 2000psi around 870fps. All with zero hammer spring. Seems way too over sprung or hammer is way too heavy. But not sure how to get to the hammer so I'm just gonna clip the hammer spring and make it work that way.

Dillon you could also get a lighter spring if shortening the oe doesn't get you there. That must be one stout hammer spring.

I recently read that reducing hammer spring works best if you reduce the valve spring as well. Might even look into reducing tp size.

I don't have an avenger but I like to run a lighter valve spring, medium hammer spring and then I have had good luck running a slightly undersized tp. I keep my reg settings relatively higher 1800-1900 to help slam the valve shut. This seems to be working pretty well for me.

Yeah as far as valve spring I'm going to leave it as is as I'm wanting little sips of air. If I reduce the valve spring I'd likely need a lighter hammer and hammer spring as well. With a cut hammer spring I should reach my goal. It's a fairly stiff spring so shouldn't need to cut too much. As far as TP no real way to change that as it's just a block no TP in it.

Spring is a thick little thing being 2.4", OD of .354", ID .237" and a wire size of .056".

Well I cut it .4" to leave it at 2". Dropped reg to 1000psi again. First shot backed out 500fps. Perfect. 3.5 turns in and I'm at a cool 640fps and seems to have a nice tight ES over 10 shots of less than 10. Super quiet and dead shot cycle. Sighted in at 20yds. Basically same hole definitely MOA or better. Should serve it's purpose very well now!

Should do you well for the close pesting encounters. I bet that the ES will get better with some break in time on the reg.

Yeah Bill I'll give a rough shot count on it for you. Not gonna do it over the chrony as I don't like to waste pellets over them anymore. But nice thing is I don't need to with the reg gauge I'll know roughly when it falls off.

James, yeah I found zero info on dropping power. Tyler patner said stock they can't go that low so modding it is the only way. And if I need power I have my Uragan.

Negative Bill. Used to live in So Cal, Chino to be exact. Then moved here to Outlook, WA. Prefer no people. Kent is way too busy for my liking. Sister in law lives out in that area though.
