Easy to make if you happen to be a machinist....81/2 oz., is that steel? Very nice work.
I like a low scout scope, this is easy enough to make. It works very well with a light scope, this one is for a 3/4 inch Redfield IER scope. Total weight is 8 1/2 oz. Higher mounts and heavier scopes get more leverage on the barrel but maybe not too much?

Here's the first one I made. Really don't need the extra screw, I thought it would help leveling the scope. The trouble with making it is the number of scope and mount combos that won't work
